Active listening in communication

Learning Objectives:

 To develop an understanding of digital tools used in communication.


 To develop an understanding of how technology affects listening skills.

Background:

As technology has become an increasingly important part of our lives, it has both helped and hindered our
ability to actively listen. In this assignment, you need to explore the impact of technology on active
listening, and provide practical examples of how technology can be used to either facilitate or hinder active
listening.

Task 1: Enlist ten (10) digital tools or platforms that help listeners and speakers in communication process,
such as video conferencing software, note taking apps, or other relevant digital tools other than social
media. (Mark 10)

Include these details in Task 1.

1. Name of enlisted digital tool or platform


2. Add digital tool or platform logo picture
3. Add digital tool or platform website address
4. Usage of the digital tool or platform (short answer 150-200 words)
5. Advantages and disadvantages with examples (short answer 150-200 words)

Task 2: Suggest five tips on how students can use these digital tools to enhance their active listening and
communication skills. (Mark 5)
(Mark 10+5=15)

Learning Outcomes:

 Students will be able to identify the digital tools for communication.


 Note: Copied material will be graded “Zero”

Opening Date and Time May 19, 2023 at 12:01 A.M (Mid-Night)
Due Date and Time May 25, 2023 at 11:59 P.M (Mid-Night)

Note: Only in the case of Assignment,24 Hrs extra / grace period after the above mentioned due

Formatting guidelines:

 Use the font style “Times New Roman” and font size “12”.
 Use black and blue font colors only.

 Give the answer according to question, there will be negative marking for irrelevant material.
 For acquiring the relevant knowledge don’t rely only on handouts but watch the video lectures and
use other reference books also.
