Audioscript for Listening task

Alice: George, have you heard about Luke Granger? He’s joined the national swimming team!
George: Wow! That’s amazing! I don’t really know him that well. So he’s going to be famous!
Alice: Well, he’ll need to win lots of races first!
George: You’re right – and he’ll meet lots of top swimmers. I don’t think I’d enjoy all that, though.
Alice: Oh? Anyway, I had no idea that Luke was such a good swimmer. I mean, aren’t there better swimmers
than him in the school?
George: No! No-one else can swim as fast or as far as him! Have you ever watched him?
Alice: No, but he’ll be on TV soon, I will! Anyway, what about school?
George: Oh, they’ll get a private teacher for him.
Alice: Really? Ooh, I’d like that! And will he become rich because he’s in the team?
George: I don’t know. But he’ll need to train hard if he wants to do well. But then he does that already at school,
so he’ll be fine.
Alice: Mm – but I think he’ll be sad to be away from his family, in another country.
George: Yes, I know. I don’t think he’ll like going abroad and leaving them behind.
Alice: No. Anyway, I’m going to do more swimming training. I’m sure I’ll get into the team that way!
George: Well,... I just know I’m not good enough, so the coach will never choose me!
