Remove/install
1 Remove brake pads MODEL 117, 156 (except 156.952), 176 AR42.10-P-1600NKB
(except 176.052), 242, 246
MODEL 156.952, 176.052 AR42.10-P-1600MTA
2 Disconnect right front brake wear sensor When removing the brake caliper (2) on the
electrical connector (S10/2x1), remove screw right side of the vehicle.
(3) and detach right front brake wear sensor
electrical connector (S10/2x1) from brake
caliper (2)
Screw/bolt, brake wear connector to brake *BA42.10-P-1004-10N
caliper
3 Remove brake hose (5) When replacing the brake caliper (2).

Seal connections immediately.


Otherwise damage can be caused by
escaping brake fluid.

4 Remove upper bolt (6) and remove brake MODEL 117 (except 117.352), 156 (except
caliper (2) 156.952), 176, 242, 246

Do not kink the brake hose (5) or subject it to


tensile loads. To relieve the load on the brake
hose (5), fasten the brake caliper (2) to the
vehicle free of tension.
Otherwise the brake hose (5) will be damaged.
5.1 Unscrew bolts (4) and remove brake caliper MODEL 117 (except 117.352), 156 (except
support (1) 156.952), 176, 242, 246

knuckle
5.2 Remove bolts (4) and remove brake caliper (2) MODEL 117.352, 156.952

Do not kink the brake hose (5) or subject it to

7 Check brake disks for condition and measure

10 Press back brake piston using pusher tool If brake piston is sluggish replace the
(01) brake caliper (2).

Clean
11 Clean contact surfaces of the brake pads on
brake caliper (2) and brake caliper support (1) In the process do not damage the dust boot
using a rag (11) on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-
edged or pointed objects.
Otherwise the brake caliper (2) or the brake
caliper support (1) can be damaged.

12 Install in the reverse order
