English I - English for Software Development Students
Mgtr. Dora J. Tuñòn V.
A very warm welcome to our English class and my best wishes for you in the first semester
2023.
I have developed this module with you in mind to guide you to our English class. I am very happy to
have you in my class and I hope you have a very enjoyable and successful semester.
Our aim is to ensure your academic success and that start with your clear understanding of what is
expected of you in the virtual learning environment and how you can be comfortable with it.
Our classes will focus on improving your proficiency in the English language. Learning by doing, or by
practicing together is the real aim of our course. This means that you will be involved in using the
language in context rather than in isolation. You will regularly receive readings, video, and other kind
of material related to your career, so you will have a clear understanding and put in practice your
knowledge in the real life. A communicative pedagogical approach will be used. In this course you will
have the opportunity to focus on improving your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
