CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

What is Work Immersion? Work immersion is part of the k-12 curriculum developed by the Department of

Education for senior high school students. It consists of 20 hours to expose a trainee to a working environment in

real-world settings. It is a competency that improves the students' skills, confidence, and knowledge, which will

help them in their future careers. Work immersion is another method for learning how to work in a business or

actual place where they can gain new experiences.

Through this program, students can be prepared for their first job and become comfortable and familiar with

business-related conditions relevant to their specialization. Students experience social interaction in the

workplace, which will help them when they graduate and enter the real world. Work immersion is beneficial

because it allows Senior High students to determine whether what they have chosen in school is what they want

to do as a career. The ability to put their skills and knowledge to the test in practice will help them develop their

career path.

DAILY ACTIVITIES
MAY 03, 2023

It was my first day at immersion, and I was assigned to the clinic. I was nervous at first because it was my

first time and I didn’t know what to do. They let me observe the surroundings because it was only my first

day. My first impression of Ma'am Zen was that she was strict and ill-tempered, but I was wrong. She’s so

kind to me; she’s so reliable, even if it is only my first day here at the clinic. I feel comfortable already

because of how she treats us. She treats us like a buddy, a friend, and a son. I’m so thankful that I was

assigned here. What we did today was assist and keep an eye on the students. Exhausting yet enjoyable.

May 04, 2023

It was my second day at immersion, and I was already late. The time was quarter to 8 when I got to school

because I had diarrhea. But our supervisor is so understandable. She also gave me advice about my illness. It’s

only my second day here at Immersion, but it feels like we’ve been together for a long time. We're the same

vibes, actually. I feel comfortable around her already. I’ve learned so much from her about life, even though

we’ve only been together for two days. I'm getting goosebumps from what she said to me because it perfectly fits

my situation right now, like, it hits me. Anyway, we didn't do much today because only a few students did their

medical.

May 05, 2023

It’s my third day at immersion, I arrived at school 20 minutes after 8. I was late again. The clinic is closed.

Then I saw my friend. My friend sent me to their room, where he was on duty. Their supervisor let me in

because if the other teacher saw me loitering, they might scold me. Their supervisor gave me a task where

we would calculate the total number of respondents in the survey questionnaire. until it's over and it's break

time. We are only here until 10 a.m. because it is a pictorial day. and since we are done with the work

assigned to us, we can eat and rest. We didn't do much because today was a pictorial day.

May 08, 2023

It was my fourth day at immersion I got into school like it was half past 8. We didn’t do much today because only a few

students came by the clinic because of their sickness.

May 09, 2023

It was my fifth day at immersion, and I arrived at school quarter past 8. And again, we didn’t do much today

because our doctor was not around and only a few students came by the clinic.

MAY 10, 2023

It’s our last day at immersion, and again, I arrived at school at quarter past 8. And we have a task to call the

students from their rooms to come to the clinic to do their medical and dental. Later on, one student came by the

clinic because he couldn’t breathe. He panics because he thinks that his father might scold him, and he doesn’t

want to be a burden to them. Later, his father came, and he cried because he might scold him. Ma'am Zen

ordered me to support them until they left the gate. Later on, Ma'am Zen asked me to assist the students and

keep an eye on them. And after that, Ma'am Zen called us because there was something that she wanted to give

us, which was a letter and noodles. I’m touched. It was my first time getting a letter from the others, and I almost

cried because of this, and it’s our last day here at clinic

CHAPTER 4
REFLECTION

In the 6 days, I consumed 20 hours for my work immersion. on each day that I have been

working at Infant Jesus Learning Academy Rodriguez Rizal. Ma’am Zen taught us about the safety measures

for covid-19 like, avoid crowded areas, always wear a mask, washing our hands for 20 seconds, etc.

Through my work immersion experience, I was able to explore, get out of my comfort zone, interact with people

of various personalities, and develop my skills in my chosen field with hustle and fun. I can say that overall, my

experience at work was great. I learn a lot of things while I’m exploring and learning. My work immersion made

me realize all the things that I lack and changed me to become a better person. I’ve learned a lot of things during

my work immersion. I got out of my comfort zone. I can interact with people, unlike before. I made a lot of new

friends because of that. Work immersion is very beneficial because it helps students gain knowledge and

experience for their future that can help them grow as individuals. It can also improve and build new skills.

CHAPTER 5
CONCLUSION
Work immersion helped students in developing communication, productivity, decision-making, dependability,

reliability, and professionalism skills. Immersion can be viewed as a way for students to improve themselves by

participating in real-life work simulations.

Immersion prepares students to work in a company and eventually excel in a specific career, preparing them for

the real world. Immersion also allows students to discover themselves and kickstart their professional

development. Immersion will assist students in developing new skill sets and improving their existing abilities.

Students gain work-related competencies through their work immersion experiences, which helps them make

informed career choices.

The training improved my confidence and taught me how to communicate and interact with others. Work

immersion allows me to gain a better understanding of myself, what I'm capable of, and to identify my strengths

and weaknesses that can be improved.
