EmbNet User’s Manual

Summary

Introduction
EmbNet is software to manage embroidery machines through network. It was developed by
BeiJingXingDaHao Technology CO., LTD. The EmbNet software is based on Client/Server
architecture and it have two main programs: The EmbNetServer for server side and the
EmbNetClient for client side. But the two components can be installed on same computer.

System Requirements
Hardware requirements:
Pentium 4 class CPU, 512M memory, 10GByte free hardware space
Sofware requirements:
OS: Windows2000/WindowsXP/Windows2000

Installation Sequence
9 setup network hardware connect
9 Install and setup server side software: EmbNetServer
9 Install and setup client side software: EmbNetClient

Embroidery machine connect with computer directly,using cross cable。
Embroidery connect with computer through hub or switches, using straight-thru cable
Software Installation

Install EmbNetServer

Open EmbNetServer directory from product CD and run setup.exe program by double click on the
icon. The setup program will run automatically and install EmbNetServer software on your
machine.
Install EmbNetClient

Open EmbNetClient directory from product CD and run setup.exe program by double click on the
icon. The setup program will run automatically and install EmbNetClient software on your
machine.
How To Use EmbNetServer

Lunch The Program

Before you can lunch the EmbNetServer program, you should make sure that MSDE database
software which was installed with EmbNetServer was running.

Double click the desktop icon “Lunch EmbNetServer” to startup the software.

You can also lunch the program from Start Menu: Start-> Programs-> DaHao-> EmbNetServer->
Lunch EmbNet Server.

When EmbNetServer Started, it show the following window:


Main Window

DB Server: Database server currently used.


Local IP: IP address of local machine. You should use this value to configure embroidery
machines.
Server Port: Network port used to communicate with embroidery machines.
Machine Num: Embroidery machine number currently connected with EmbNetServer.
Client Num: Client number currently connected with EmbNetServer.

Lock: Lock the program to avoid unauthorized operations. Before you close the program, change
system configuration, you must unlock the software.
Settings: System configurations. Usually you need not to change settings.
Password: Set or change Software-Locking password.
Exit: shutdown the program.
Exit Program

Click “Unlock” button, then input your password (default password is empty), and then click
“Exit” button.
Hide and Open Main Window
You can click the “minimize” button on the up right Conner to hide main window.

And there will be a small icon put into system tray. You can double click this icon to show
main window again.

Change Settings

Note: Usually you should not change system settings.


Unlock the program , click “Settings” button, and then input new values. You should restart the
program to make new setting take effect.
Set and Change Password

Unlock program, click “password” button, and set new password in the window opened. Default
password is empty.
How To Use EmbNetClient

Startup

Make sure EmbNetServer was running before lunch EmbNetServer program.

If you use EmbNetClient software on the same computer with EmbNetServer, no configuration is
needed. Double click desktop icon “Lunch EmbNetClient” to start the program.

Network Configuration
If you run EmbNetClient on the computer same with EmbNetServer, you need not to change
network configurations.
If you run EmbNetClient on a remote computer, you must tell the program the server’s IP
address and service port. To set up network parameters, just open menu “File->Network
Configuration”
Input correct IP address and service port into dialog, and then click “ok” button. You may
need to restart the program to make new parameters take effect.

Connect To EmbNetServer

By selecting menu: “File->Connect To Server”, or clicking “ ” button on the toolbar, you


can connect EmbNetClient to EmbNetServer.

By clicking “ ” toolbar button, you can disconnect from EmbNetServer.

If you cannot connect to EmbNetServer successfully, please turn off windows firewall and
check your network configurations.

Add Machine Record to Database


After EmbNetClient establish connection with EmbNetServer, It will show the “machine list”
view automatically and list all recorded machines.
You can add new machine record to database by using one of the following operations:
z Select menu “Machine -> Add Machine”

z Click “add machine” button on the toolbar

These operations can open “add machine” dialog, just like this:
You should at least input “Name” field and “ID” field.
“Name” is a string that can help you remember and find a certain machine.
“ID” is a number that internally identify a machine. It is now equal to decimal value of
embroidery machine’s MAC address.
The Machine List View

Machine List View uses a list to show information for all machines. You can switch to this
view by selecting menu “View -> Machine List” or by clicking on corresponding toolbar button.
The Machine Monitoring View

Machine monitoring view show states of each machine with a thumbnail style list. It can
shows pattern each machine is sewing and it’s sewing progress.
You can switch to this view through the following operations:
z Select menu “View -> Machine Monitoring”

z Click corresponding toolbar icon

Machine Status Dialog


The “Machine Status” dialog is used to show detailed information (running status, system
configurations, and system parameters) for each machine. You can open this dialog through one of
the following operations:
z Double click one of the machine items in Machine List view or in Machine Monitoring
view
z Right click one machine item and select “current states” form the context menu.

The Group Function


When you open machine listview or machine monitoring view, a treeview will appear on the
left window. It have 3 groups: normal, stop, custom. If you click 1 group, the right window will
show corresponding machine. You can also drag and drop machines to the custom group.

The Design Management View


Design Management View is used to store and manage design patterns. You can create some
categories and import .DST files from local computer into some category. And then you can set
color change sequence for each design pattern.
You can switch to Design Management view through one of the following operations:
z Select menu: “View -> Design Management”

z Click corresponding toolbar button.


Click one design category, all patterns in that category will be listed into right side of the
window.
Click one pattern, color change settings instances of that pattern will be listed into right down
window.
Double click on some pattern, the program will show a dialog to preview this pattern.
Right click on some pattern, the program will show a context menu listing operations that
you can perform on this pattern.

Manage Design Categories

You can add root categories, add child category, change category name and delete some category
by selecting menu items under “Design” main menu.
If you want to add child category to a parent category, you must select the parent category before
click menu item.

Import Design Files From Local Computer

Design Patterns must be imported into EmbNet software before it can be sent to embroidery
machines. You can only import DST(.dst) files into EmbNet with current version of software. To
import some files, following these steps:
z Select the folder that you want import files into

z click “ ” button on the toolbar or select menu “Design -> Import Local Design”
z In the opened dialog, select files that you want to import, and then click “open”.
Add Color Change Instance

You can create several color change sequences for each pattern, save them into EmbNet
software, and send them to embroidery machines.
To add a color change instance for some pattern, perform one of the following operations:
z Right click some pattern, select “Add color instance” from the context menu.

z Select one pattern, then click “ ” toolbar button.


The “Color change setting” dialog will open.

Left-top area is a preview window.


Left-bottom area is for setting color number and color table.
Right-top area is for setting color change order. There will be one color change item for each
color change. Each item shows current color change index, current needle number, current needle
color, and pattern picture.
Right-bottom area is for setting color of each needle. Each item represents a needle. The first
item is for setting background color and should not be used.

Set Color Change Sequence


Click one color change item, it will be selected and be highlighted by a blue border. Then
click on one needle item that you want this color change uses.

Set Needle Color


Double click on one needle item, the color selecting dialog will appears. Chouse new color
and click “OK” will assign that color to the needle.

Set Patch Embroidery


Right click on one color change item will open Patch Embroidery dialog to set Patch
Embroidery option for that color change.

Set Needle Number, Generate random color


Input new needle number into “Total color” field and then click “apply” will change the
needle number.
Click “random” button will make the program set needles with random colors.
Click “default” button will make the program set needles with default colors.

The Send File Wizard

Start Wizard

Send File wizard will help you send design patterns to multiple machines. You can open this
wizard through one of the following operations:
z In Machine List view, select one or more machines, right click on one of the selected
items, and select “Send Files” from the context menu.
z In Machine Monitoring view, right click on one machine, select “Send Files” from
context menu.
z In Design Management view, select one or more designs, right click on one selected
items, and then select “Send Files” from the context menu.
z In Design Management view, right click on one color change instance, and then select
“Send Files” from the context menu.

z Click “ ” toolbar button.

The First Page: Welcome

When wizard open, it will show the welcome page first.


The Second Page: Select Designs to Send

You can select design files and their color change instance to be sent.
Click “add design…” to add more design files into send list.
Select some design files and click “Remove selected” will remove them from send list.
Select one design and click “Set color instance” will open a dialog to chouse color change
instance for that design.

The Third Page: Select Target Machines

Move the machines that you want send design to right list
The Fourth Page: Complete

The program will generate several task items and show them in the list. Click “OK” to submit
these tasks. A task represents send one file to one machine.
The Task Management View

The Task Management view is used to view and manage tasks. The up side list shows tasks
that is currently executing or waiting for execute. The down side list shows tasks that have been
executed or canceled.
Cancel Tasks
To can cancel tasks, just select one or more tasks in waiting list, right click, and select
“Cancel selected tasks” from the context menu.
Clear Executed Tasks
Right click in the down side list, select “Delete tasks executed successfully” from the context
menu will remove the tasks have been executed successfully; select “Delete all tasks executed”
will remove all executed tasks.

Remote management of Machine Designs


Right click on one connected machine item from Machine List view or Machine Monitoring
view, select “Machine Design Management” from the context menu, and the machine design
management dialog will open.
To delete designs in the machine’s memory, just check designs you want to delete, then click
“delete” button.
View History Events of One Machines
Right click on one machine item from Machine List view or Machine Monitoring view; select
“View History Events” from context menu.

X9S machine control


Select machine on the machine list view, righclick selected machine. a popup menu will appear.the
menu contain “modify argument” and “control machine” two options.

Click the “modify argument” option, “modify argument” window will appear, you can modify
argument and then press “apply” button, or press the “cancel” button to abort.
Click the “control machine” option, “machine control” window will appear.
It display current state of the machine, you can control the machine as well.

Click the “design management” button ,”design management” window will appear. mark
selected design, you can delete marked design, or set marked design as current design of the
machine.

Click “Set Embrodery Design” button, “Ajust Fame Position” window will appear.

Select frame size first according to the actually frame of the embroidery machine. Then move the
design to the right position you want to. You can change design parameter also, select design,
change design parameter, click “Save Design Info” button to Save what you have changed. And
you can set design color or delete selected design. Finally, click the “complete” button to finish
ajust design frame operation. Start the embroidery machine, the embroidery machine will start
from the position that you have set.
