DAILY LESSON LOG OF M2ME-Ivb-23 (Day One)

School Grade Level

Teacher Learning Area Mathematics
Teaching Date and Time Quarter Fourth Quarter
I.OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives,
necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may
be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment
Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find
significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards Demonstrate understanding of time, standard measures of length, mass and capacity and area using square-tile
units.
B.Performance Standards Is able to apply knowledge of time, standard measures of length, mass and capacity and area using square-tile
units in mathematical problems and real-life situations.
C.Learning Competencies/ Learning Competency: shows and uses the appropriate unit of length and their abbreviation cm and m to
Objectives measure a particular object. M2ME-IVb- 23
Learning Objectives:
1. Uses appropriate unit of length and their abbreviations cm and m to measure a particular object;
2. Tell appropriate unit of length and their abbreviations cm and m to measure a particular object;
3. Accuracy.

B. Other Learning Resources Improvised clock, word problem printed on a cartolina, hairpins, paper clips, popsicle sticks, string, pencil, ruler,
meter stick, tape measure, objects to be measured, activity chart and
Illustrations
IV. PROCEDURES These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that pupils/students will
learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students which you can infer from
formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing pupils/students with multiple ways
to learn new things, practice the learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what
they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each
step.
A. Review previous lesson or presenting the A.Review
new lesson
Gamit ang improvised clock, isulti kon unsa orasa ang gipakita:

1. 3:40 3. 8:00 5. 7:35

2. 6:20 4. 10:15

B.Motivation
The teacher shows the following: hairpins, paper clips, popsicle sticks, string, pencil, ruler,
tape measure and meter stick.
Have the pupils identify the objects.
lapis.
Pangutana: Giunsa nako ang lamisa? ( gisukod ) Unsa man ako gigamit sa pagsukod?
(lapis ug popsicle sticks?
standard units of measure.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson The teacher lets the pupils realize that showing and using appropriate unit of length and
their abbreviation cm and m to measure a particular object are important skills to be used
in daily experiences like telling the height, width, length of things around them and
creating simple projects.
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new
lesson
The teacher shows a centimeter ruler, tape measuer and meter stick.

Pangutana: Unsa mani sila? ( ruler, tape measure, meter stick)

Unsa man ang gamit ani nila?
Pangutana: Asa man ani nga unit of measure nga gamiton sa pagsukod sa blackboard?
meter o centimeter?
( dili ) Ngano man?

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new The teacher show a ruler with centimeters. Let the pupils identify a centimeter.
skills

The teacher write the word centimeter on the board and explain it to the pupils that
centimeter is used to measure short lengths.
(meter stick or tape measure)

The teacher discuss the concept of using meter which is another unit used to measure
longer lengths.
measure? (wall, door, cabinet , windows, shelves, etc.)

The teacher shows a ruler, tape measuer and meter stick.

Isulti: Unsa mani sila? ( ruler, tape measure, meter stick )
Unsa man ang gamit ani nila?

Say: A meter is a standard unit of length which is 100 times longer than a centimeter.
Therefore when measuring
longer objects and short distances, meter stick or tape measure is used to get the
accurate linear measurement. On the other hand, the object which has a shorter length
utilizes a ruler centimeters to get the accurate centimeter length.
Ask: How do we abbreviate centimeter? (cm)
How do we abbreviate meter? (m)

E. . Discussing new concepts and Group Activity

practicing new skills #2 Measurement Hunt
a. Group the pupils by 5’s
b. Go on a measure hunt with a ruler or meter stick.
c. Look for the following:

1. a piece of string that is about 3 meter long

2. a pencil that is about 18-20 centimeter long
3. a picture that is longer than 20 centimeter long
4. a pupil whose hair is between 22-26 centimeter long
5. a slipper that is about 24 centimeter long

F. Developing mastery(leads to formative

assessment 3)

Let the pupils answer Buluhaton 1 in Learner’s Material pp. 342-343

G. Finding practical/ applications of concepts

and skills in daily living Gamit ang mga butang nga gihisgutan, ipasukod sa mga bata ang gitas-on sa mga
mosunod nga butang: ilang sapatos, notebook, lapis papel etc.

H. Making generalizations and abstractions What are the standard units for measuring the length of an object? (meter and
about the lesson
centimeter)
What is the abbreviation of meter? centimeter? (m, cm)
I. Evaluating Learning
