Estacion Experiment 7 Report

The experiment investigates resonance in series and parallel circuits. In the series circuit, voltage, current, and capacitance measurements were taken at varying frequencies. The results showed that current increases as frequency increases, peaking at resonance. A parallel RLC circuit was also tested, and similarly current was found to rise with frequency. Plotting the data revealed the resonant behavior of both circuits, with current maximizing at a particular driving frequency. The experiment demonstrated how resonance occurs in electrical circuits.

Title: Resonance

I. Introduction

According to Elecronicstutorials (n.d), “A resonant circuit consists of R,

L, and C elements and whose frequency response characteristic changes
with changes in frequency”. Resonance occurs in a series circuit when
the supply frequency causes the voltages across L and C to be equal and
opposite in phase

For this Experiment, a Unitrain-I system is used to conduct this

experiment to observe the behavior of the resonant circuit, and then
analyze the circuit. The UniTrain-I system is a computer-based training
and experimentation system for vocational and further training and
education in the areas of basic and advanced electrical engineering and
electronics.

V. Data analysis and interpretation

In this Experiment, We tackle the Behavior of Resonance in a circuit. In the first part of the
experiment, we created a Series resonance circuit and then setup our circuit in the Unitrain 1
System and then connect the ammeter and voltmeter probes in the circuit to measure the voltage,
current, of the circuit.

After setting up the circuit, we vary the frequency in each trials and then put all the necessary
data measured by the voltmeter and ammeter. After that we plotted the graph to see the behavior
of the circuit. This

After Plotting the graph, we can see the behavior of the series resonance circuit, the graph shows
that when we raise the frequency, the total current of the circuit will increase too.

For the Second part of the Experiment, we created the Parallel resonance. We first create the
circuit and then connect the ammeter probes in the right connections. After setting up the circuit,
we then vary the frequency in each trials and then gather the data measured by the ammeter.
After we gather the data, we use the gathered data to plot a graph to see the behavior of the
circuit.
After Plotting the graph, we can see the behavior of the series resonance circuit, the graph shows
that when we raise the frequency, the total current of the circuit will increase too. It has a similar
behavior in a series circit

VI. Findings and Conclusion

After conducting this experiment, we’ve learned and famillarized the behavior of resonance in a
circuit. Resonance is the system having a nature of oscillating with the larger amplitudes. This
system has the frequency and this is the condition in which the frequency becomes highest and
this frequency is called the resonant frequency. This type of frequency is associated with all
kinds of waves or vibrations.
