CAUTIONARY REMARKS FOR ZX-5 MAIN HARNESS CAB
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

OUTLINE
This Service Bulletin is to provide you with a summary of cautionary remarks for connecting ZX-5
main harness connector to make sure that it can be properly removed and installed during assembly
and machine repair work. Refer to this Service Bulletin and work carefully. Install and remove
correctly. Otherwise, the connector will become damaged or the fitment portion will lose its
waterproof function, resulting in a major damage.
Work carefully so that the connector is installed and removed correctly while referring to the
attached instructions given from page 3.

* Thoroughly read the safety section in the service manual before starting the work to ensure safe operation.
Welding work, if any, should only be done by qualified welders.
* After replacing the main hydraulic equipment or engine or after post-assembling the aforementioned as an
option, be sure to change and register the post-assembled device serial number on Global e-Service (MMR,
HR, MME, G-Claim).

・13mm socket wrench
Note: Do not use impact wrench. (It will damage the connector.)
① Loosen the center bolt.
② Holding the connector with the hand, loosen the bolt. (The connector will gradually come out.)

③ Once the connector stops moving towards you, pull it gently and remove.

Tools to be used
・13mm socket wrench
・Torque wrench
Note: Do not use impact wrench. (It will damage the connector.)
① Hold the white slider of the connector on the cab-side and pull it towards you (to protect the male
pin when fitting the connector). There is no need to pull it out until it locks (until it clicks).

Once the slider and connector latch are in


contact, the slider stops. Don’t pull anymore.

② Hold the connector so that it doesn’t become tilted. Align the center bolt to the male
connector nut on the cab side.
③ Hold the connector so that it doesn’t become tilted and tighten the bolt (the connector will
gradually fit at the same time).

④ Once the tightening force increases (the bolt stops turning in the tightening direction),
check to make sure that you can see the end of the male connector from the top and right
inspection windows. (Check two positions at least.) If you are unable to see the end of the
male connector, remove the connector and repeat the process from ①.
⑤ Using a torque wrench, tighten to the specified torque (9.8N・m).

Note: The bolt will damage if it is tightened to a torque that is higher than the specified.
Work carefully so that you don’t over-tighten it. If the bolt is damaged, you will need to replace it.
Note: If you don’t see the end of the male connector from the fit inspection window, the waterproof
function will not work. If water enters the connector, you will need to replace the harness.
