degree of protection is IP22. Colour RAL7035

1.2 Dimensions:
The main switchboard is composed by section with front and back access from
RITTAL. The switchboard has 7 sections, in total 4400x2100x600mm (Width x Height
incl. plinth x Depth). There will be separation plates between the sections of main
switchboard.
See Annex 1: 556058-10P-90.pdf

1.3 Section arrangements:

Section 1 – Section provided for supplying the essential consumers, 10P1-MCC
Engine Room Aft -1’st supply (3x400V), 10P2-MCC Engine Room Fore -1’st supply
(3x400V). Breakers will have front access. Starters control circuits will have rear access.
Section 2 – Section provided for protection and control of Portside Generator
(430kW; 830A) from Engine Room fore ship.
Section 3 – Section provided for protection and control of Centerline Generator
(430kW; 830A) from Engine Room aft ship.
Section 4 – Section provided for supplies for 10P3-MCC Bowthruster room
(3x400V), 10P4-MCC Main Deck Aftship (3x400V), 10P5-AC Switchboard
(3x400V), 10P6-Galley DB (3x400V). These sub distribution boards are each supplied
via 2 electrically interlocked breakers connected to Busbar Porstide and Busbar
Starboard. The cable from the 10SC-Shore Connection Panel (3x400V, 250A) will be
connected to a circuit breaker in this section with access from rear (The monitoring and
control for the correct phase succession is placed in 10SC-Shore Connection Panel).
Bustie separator PS-CL for separation of PS andCL Busbar and Bustie separator PS-
SB for separation of PS and SB Busbar will be located in section4 with access from rear.

3. Consumers

3.1 General
All consumer connected to main switchboard can be found in Annex 2: “556058-
0100-02 Consumer Specification List.pdf”. All consumers are supplied via circuit
breakers equipped with protection for over- current and short-circuit. All consumers
essential for the safety of the ship will automatically and sequentially start after black-
out.
Indication and control equipment for consumers supplied from main switchboard
are placed in the correspondent section. Consumers with current higher than 20Amps will
be equipped with ammeter.
3.2 Control
Local control means control located near the equipment that needs to be
controlled.
Remote control means control located far from equipment.
ECR control means Praxis Control from switchboard room console.
Wheelhouse control means Praxis Control from wheelhouse.
The location of control stations for main switchboard consumers can be found in
Annex 2. The control stations present in Annex 2 are confronted with systems drawings
from Damen YN556058.
3.3 Bowthruster
The bowthruster section will be provided with motor controlled circuit breaker
equipped with protection for over- current and short-circuit, ammeter and kilowatt metter.

4. Generators

4.1 Equipment
Each generator section will be equipped with:
- Motor controlled circuit breaker for protection against over-current and short-
circuit. Each circuit breaker will have under voltage coil supplied via adjustable
timer.
- Ammeter, double voltmeter, double frequency meter, kilowatt meter,
synchronizer (used for manual synchronization), and a Local Operator Panel-LOP
for PMS
- Protection relay for reversed power. Praxis PMS have also protection for reverse
power.
- On/Off pushbuttons for circuit breaker.
- Start/Stop buttons for diesel generator.
- Selector switch for speed control.
- Indication lamps for circuit breaker status, diesel generator status
4.2 Functions
The control equipment will realize the coupling on dead-busbars, coupling on
busbar with manual synchronization via synchronizer and coupling on busbar with
automatic synchronization via PMS.
4.3 Power Management System
The functionality of the system is described in PMS manual.

5. Shore connection

5.1 Equipment
In section 4 the shore connection motor controlled circuit breaker will be installed
with rear access. The circuit will be calculated for 250A. The shore connection will be
equipped with:
- Motor controlled circuit breaker for protection against over-current and short-
circuit. The circuit breaker will have under voltage coil supplied via adjustable
timer.
- Ammeter, voltmeter, synchronizer (used for manual synchronization), and a Local
Operator Panel-LOP for PMS.

5.2Functions
The control circuit will ensure:
- Manual coupling on dead bus bars
- Coupling by synchronization (semi-automatic and automatic) on bus bars,
remaining that the generator with which the synchronization has taken place, to be
disconnected from the busbars after 5-10 seconds.
- The functionality of the automatic synchronization is described in PMS manual.

6. Busbar System

The busbar system is divided into 3 parts with 3 bustie separators. The status of
the bustie separators will be signalized by lamps placed on the corresponding MSB
sections.
The bustie separators are ensuring:
- The simultaneous working of each generator supplying his own busbar system if
the bustie separators are disconnected
- The parallel running of PS Generator and SB Generator if the PS-SB Bustie
separator is closed and PS-CL and SB-CL Bustie separators are opened. The CL
Generator is on stand-by
- Parallel running of generators if PS-SB and PS-CL or SB-CL bustie separators
are closed.
- All the bustie separators are to be connected and disconnected automatically just
with synchronization. The manual operation is only permitted when there is no
voltage on the busbar that are connected to the bustie separator on which manual
operation is to be performed. The automation for connecting and disconnecting
the bustie separators can be found in the PMS manual.
