First artists: cavemen – “representation”
ARTISANS – also referred to as
craftsmen; in the Medieval period
(13th to 15th cent) towns had
formalized groups of artisans who
took on a particular specialization
or trade: textiles and glass
workers, carpenters, carvers,
masons, armorers, and weapon-
makers, etc.
Artisans commit to a particular
trade, developing immense skill
and expertise in his craft. They
form guilds and sometimes
produce manuals.

Skilled worker who Performs creative art,
employs skill, talent and products are visually
experience in creating pleasing, for the
functional objects such enjoyment/appreciation

Those who initially assess and
survey the artwork that collectors
are interested in. They oversee the
sale on behalf of the collector.
COLLECTORS
Arbiters of taste; a key player in
making or breaking an artist’s
career or shape the course of a
museum’s collection.
