Each question shall propose four alternative answers or istractors from which candidates shall choose the correct one, The manner of choosing shall be explained in the candidates answer sheet during the examination . The drawing of conclusions 5.2.2 Part Two: Literature 1h 30mins There shall be two sections, of two texts each on which two alternative questions shall be asked. Candidates shall answer two questions choosing only ONE from Section A. Section A shall be Drama, while Section B shall be P1 Two of the texts, one from each genre shall be Negro-african literature, while the other two shall be francophone literature. 5.2.3. Paper 3: Translation and comprehension ~ 2h 30mins ‘This paper shall have two questions. Question one shall be translation into French of a text of two hundred and forty (240) words in English. The text shall bbe essentially narrative, descriptive, and including conversation. Candidates shall be expected to have a good knowledge of idiomatic expression . grammar es, (euses, vocabulary, sentence structures and cuitural, grammatical and structure transpositions. Question two shall be Reading Comprehension, Candidates will be given a passage in French of 350 words on which 20 questions shall be asked. Five (05) con syntax, five (05) on vocabulary and semantics, and ten (10) on comprehension ie. direct factual questions, deductions, insinuations and implication, The passage will be in modern French and may consist of narrative, description, dialogue or a mixture of any of these. nndidates shall be expected to cover skills in comprehension, inferences, scanning and imming, imagination and creativity. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SUBJECT, Candidates shall be expected to be aimed with the culture of extensive and intensive reading of magazines like: Cameioon Tribune, le messager and other journals in French, Should listen to racio programmes like: Dimanche Midi and Cameroon calling Parents should take responsibility in the learning of their children by planning language visits and holidays to Francophone Areas = Must do a lot of writing in French (Articles, short stories, Small poems) ~ Must also do a lot of Homework/Assignments, XT BOOKS AND REFERENCE MATERIAL - A.good French language dictionary ~ A good English language dictionary + A good Bilingual (French and English) dictionary A French Grammar ~ La grammaire frangaise contemporain ~ La grammaire frangaise de A - Z ~ Ltart de conjugaison de 12.000 verbes | WPH WHITMARSH .
