1. What are some local trends in curriculum in the Philippines since the last 10
years?

 The K-12 Basic Education Program: The K-12 Basic Education Program was
implemented in 2013. This program adds two years of senior high school to the
previous 10-year basic education program. The K-12 program aims to improve
the quality of education in the Philippines and to make it more aligned with
international standards.
 The Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum: The Enhanced Basic Education
Curriculum (BEC) was implemented in 2016. This curriculum is a revision of the
previous BEC and it aims to make the curriculum more relevant to the needs of
the 21st century. The Enhanced BEC also includes more emphasis on critical
thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
 The use of technology in the classroom: The use of technology in the classroom
is becoming increasingly common in the Philippines. Technology can be used to
enhance learning in a variety of ways, such as by providing students with access
to information, by helping them to collaborate on projects, and by providing them
with feedback on their work.
 The focus on 21st century skills: There is a growing focus on 21st century skills
in the Philippines. These skills include critical thinking, problem-solving,
creativity, collaboration, and communication. These skills are essential for
success in the 21st century economy.
 The emphasis on character education: There is also a growing emphasis on
character education in the Philippines. Character education is the process of
teaching children the values that are important for a good life, such as honesty,
respect, and responsibility. Character education can help children to become
better citizens and to lead more fulfilling lives.

These are just some of the local trends in curriculum in the Philippines since the last 10
years. The Philippine education system is constantly evolving and changing, and it is
important to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in order to provide the best possible
education for our children.
2. Name some global trends on curriculum changes or reforms.

Curriculum Integration: This is the practice of combining different subjects or disciplines

into one cohesive unit of study. This can be done in order to make learning more
relevant and engaging for students, or to help them to see the connections between
different areas of knowledge.

Assessment for Learning: This is an approach to assessment that focuses on using

assessment data to improve student learning. This means that assessment is not seen
as a way of judging students, but as a way of providing feedback that can be used to
help them improve.

Teacher Professional Development: This is the process of providing teachers with

opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge. This can be done through formal
training programs, professional development workshops, or informal learning
opportunities.

School Improvement: This is the process of making schools more effective. This can be
done through a variety of methods, such as improving teacher quality, providing
additional resources, or implementing new programs.

These are just some of the global trends on curriculum changes or reforms that are also
being implemented in the Philippines. The Philippine education system is constantly
evolving and changing, and it is important to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in order
to provide the best possible education for our children.
3. The animal school – How would you relate the fable you have just read
regarding curriculum, curriculum evaluation and curriculum enhancement?

As what I have read on the fable that as a teacher, students have their own uniqueness
in terms of skills, mind and performance. Some students are slow in other field but
some of them are really good in other field. As curriculum also, grew and improves as
time pass by. Curriculum keeps on evolving and continue to improve in various students
where you can write and evaluate what curriculum that you will using in various class.
