The document discusses a proposed study on comparing traditional and computerized library systems. It provides background on the need for automating library management through a web-based system and SMS notifications. The proposed system aims to track book borrowing and returning and assist librarians with inventory and user records. It is intended to improve data accuracy and optimize staff workflows. Limitations include users not being able to view each other's profiles and inability to handle nonsense messages or non-enrolled students.

- INTRODUCTION LARA
With the modernization of technology, there are a plethora of quick and dependable
research options. The library, on the other hand, continues to play an important role in
the lives of students and researchers. The library is still regarded as the most
trustworthy source of information.

- BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY ALEX

(Read the context of the PowerPoint) so this study a wblms with sms notification
on controls all the library operation in a systematic way from single point of
access. It helps also in keeping records of all the library resources like books,
catalogs, journals, eBooks, newspaper etc. Library management system can help
libraries with their data management process it automates many of the task that
are usually done by a librarian. And the most important part is that it not only
improves data accuracy but also optimizes work flows for staff members. Also,
this system provides a sms notification to users when it is time to return a book to
the library. Once the users reach a due date the admin will send a notifications to
the user.

- SCOPE MAYENG
At this point I’m going to present our scope and limitations. This will be developed to
assist librarians in maintaining student and book records. The system will be able to
track the process of borrowing and returning books, and SMS will be used to
communicate the students' responsibilities.
This is scope of proposed system.
The admin can create an account, do inventory, transactions, create reports, see user
records, and generate SMS notifications. Meanwhile, the user can only make an
account, make transactions, view their information, and receive SMS notifications.
Limitations of the project
However, the following are not covered by this project:
Another user can view/access other users' profile.
Nonsense messages from the user.
Students who are not enrolled in institutions.
Inventory -------

- SIGNIFICANCE - LARA
The system uses computer technology to reduce time spent and errors associated with
the identification and verification of library reading materials, as well as charging-in and
charging-out. The library will be kept organized because the system includes an access
catalog, and library collections will be found quickly if they are present on the shelf.
Whether the book or another form of reading material is used.

Manual Library System

Today, the library has improved tremendously in terms of organization, quality of
personnel, materials, facilities, and services. It is some kind of a phenomenon none like
it before in this part of the country definitely contributing awe and respect to the stature
and aura of excellence of the University. The following are characteristics of a traditional
library: emphasis on physical items' storage and preservation, particularly books and
periodicals' high-level rather than in-depth cataloging, such as author and subject
indexes rather than full-text browsing based on the physical proximity of related
materials.

Importance of Library System

Library management systems can be made easier for libraries by using library
management systems. It automates many of the tasks that librarians typically carry out.
The fact that it not only enhances staff members' workflows but also increases data
accuracy is the most significant aspect. With an automated library management system,
staff members can easily view all of the information at once thanks to a single point of
access. Murray (2020), Catalano (2019), and Haddow (2020) have shown that having a
librarian work with students increases retention and increases the information literacy
benchmark for the University. When moving the curriculum to an online platform
regardless of the learning management system (LMS), the ability to integrate a librarian
into the classroom experience can become almost impossible.
Development of Automated Library System
According to Neil Mutia (2020), during the development of East West College's Web-
based Library Management System, our group encountered numerous problems and
difficulties, particularly in meeting the objectives outlined in our proposal. Our systems
contain features that require full attention and should be thoroughly examined. It
contributes significantly to quality instruction through transfer and successful learning by
providing feasible innovation. Our society is currently interested in PC innovation. It is
extremely important in our everyday lives. It quickly advances and develops.

Advantage of Technology in Library System

According to Mohammed Ali (2018), “Library Services Platforms take advantage of
cloud computing & Web technologies to provide capabilities to manage physical, digital
& electronic materials in a single unified system.” The Library services platform is a
Web-based, clientless system in the cloud with an advanced set of features from
searching to managing electronic/digital collections. integrated because changes to
bibliographic records are propagated automatically. We are all aware that technology is
a collection of information that is applied to the creation of mechanisms, the managing
of activities, and the separation of materials. Specialists use innovation in nearly every
aspect of our daily lives. In the workplace, innovation assists us in making their work
simple and quick.

E-Library System

According to Sameh Khanim and Falah Ahmed (2018), this study is aimed at
developing a portable system called the UMLNS-SMS (University of Malaya e-library
Notification System) using SMS technology. The survey findings clearly show that there
are several weaknesses in the existing e-mail notification system. Quite a large number
of students (i.e., 72%) do face problems as regards the return of books, they borrowed
from the library even though there is an e-mail notification system. Many users (61%)
did not receive notifications on overdue books and information on the arrival of new
books. These problems need to be addressed quickly and therefore a notification
system based on both e-mails and SMS would be able to resolve this situation. Thus,
the first objective has been achieved.
- CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK – ALEX
The concept of this study is the IPO model. It contains all the tools and
knowledge needed for the process itself. So, it demonstrates the step taken to
analyze the performance level of the current and proposed library system. The
input consists of the system specifications applied by web-based to support
additional functionality for the suggested system. Additionally, the performance
and acceptability of the current and proposed library system are discussed. A
web-based library management system will be enhanced by applying data mining
techniques after input is process through gathering data, analysis, and result
interpretation to compare the proposed system to the existing system web-based
library management system become hassle-free, user-friendly, and data-based
technology as a result.

- METHODOLOGY – LARA

Descriptive/ comparative = hypothesis and narrative. Comparison.

In this study, quantitative research outperforms qualitative research.

because it is more scientific, objective, specific and narrow, and focuses on only a few
measurable variables. In general, the researchers chose a quantitative research design
because it is intended to provide data summaries that support generalizations about the
phenomenon under study.
In a descriptive comparative, the researcher considers two variables that are not the
same manipulated, and create a formal procedure for concluding that one is superior to
the other. It was carried out to investigate the relationship between traditional and
computerized library systems.

- CONCLUSION & RECO ALEX

Each student can easily access the resources needed including books at the
library ensuring a successful educational experience. It is essential to student’s
life to design modern technology and working principles of the school library
change with the times. The researchers gathered information that the current
library management system needs to be improved to provide user with great
performance and, web-based library management system gives user access to
an almost limitless number of optioned and a large range of contents. The
primary physical space constrain for traditional libraries is that patrons frequently
must go around in search of a specific item as compared to online access which
is hassle-free and informs you of a books status by seeking admin approval in a
matter of seconds.
