I. Introductory Concept

This learning activity sheet contains information about producing standard ladies’ trousers.
Simplified project plan and techniques in taking body measurements for ladies’ trousers are designed
to easily perform your task even at home. Just carefully read, understand, and analyze the information
and instructions given.

B. Tools and Equipment

Drafting tools- such as pencil, ruler, yard stick or any long straight edge available in your
home, tape measure, manila paper.

Cutting table- any flat surface available in your home

Cutting tools- referring to scissors, shears, clippers, rotary cutting tools and seam rippers.


These cutting tools should be kept in good working order by periodic sharpening

Sewing tools- since pandemic, you may use hand sewing

BODY MEASUREMENTS NEEDED IN DRAFTING PATTERN FOR LADIES’ TROUSERS

1. Waistline- This is taken around the smallest part of the body.

2. Hips- This is taken around the largest part of the buttocks.

3.Knee circumference- This is taken around your


knees while
half kneeled or half bent.

4. Bottom measurement- This is taken around your ankle.

5. Bust Distance- This is taken from the left peak


point of the bust
to the right peak point of the bust, ideally seven (7) inches
for ideal-sized girl.

6.Length-This is taken from the waistline down to the desired length.

7.Crotch or rise measurement- This is taken from the waist down to the crotch
with the use of a tailor’s square or ruler and
tape measure.

III. ACTIVITIES

picture while doing this task. Record the measurements in your answer sheet.
Send your outputs including pictures or video through messenger or hand- in it
over to your teacher through your parents. Be guided by the rubric below.
