ABSTRACT

The food ordering system aims to develop an efficient and user-friendly platform that
facilitates the ordering of food from a restaurant using web. The project uses modern
technology to simplify the overall process of ordering food.
The system consists: a website for a customer, a web portal for a restaurant owner. The
website allows customers to browse through a wide range of menus, place orders and
provide feedback. All the information of customers those log in to website are saved in
database.
The website plays the vital role to fill the hole between customers and restaurant. The
main purpose of the website is to free customers from old ordering system, to save time
and to save effort. By the help of website customer can get the food they want with just a
click.
To enhance the user experience, the system incorporates features such as multiple food
choices with their pictures and user-friendly interface. It also prioritizes customer
feedback allowing users to provide reviews for restaurant or food, thus maintaining
service quality and accountability.
The food ordering system helps the way food is ordered, providing convenience, speed,
and a variety of choices to customers. It also empowers restaurants to expand their
customer base and efficiently manage their operations. By using modern technology, the
project strives to close the gap between customers and restaurant, creating an excellent
and satisfactory food ordering experience.

1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background

The food delivery industry has experienced significant growth and transformation in
recent years, driven by the increasing demand for convenience and on-demand services.
With the arrival of smartphones and widespread internet connectivity, food delivery
platforms have emerged as a popular choice for customers seeking to order meals from
their favorite restaurants without the need to leave their homes.

Traditional phone-based ordering systems and physical menus are gradually being
replaced by online platforms that offer a more efficient experience. These platforms
connect customers with a wide range of restaurants, allowing them to browse menus,
place orders. Furthermore, they provide restaurants with easy way to expand their
customer reach beyond their physical locations.

1.2 Problem Statement

However, despite the growing popularity of food delivery platforms, there are still
challenges that need to be addressed. Customers often face issues such as delayed
deliveries, limited restaurant choices and difficulty in providing feedback. On the other
hand, restaurant owners require effective tools to manage their menus, process orders
efficiently, and optimize their delivery operations.

1.3 Counter Measures

To overcome these challenges and enhance the food delivery experience for both
customers and restaurants, the food delivery system project was initiated. It aims to
develop a solution that grip technology to create a seamless and user-friendly platform.
By integrating various components such as web portals, and delivery management
systems, the project seeks to provide a effective solution for all people involved in the
food delivery process.
1.4 objectives

The objectives of an online food delivery system can vary depending on the specific
requirements and goals of the system. However, here are some objectives that food
delivery systems aim to achieve:
1.4.1 Streamline Ordering Process:
The primary objective of a food delivery system is to simplify and streamline the process
of placing food orders. It should provide a user-friendly interface that allows customers to
browse menus, select items, customize orders, and complete the order placement
efficiently.
1.4.2 Enhance Customer Experience:
A food delivery system should prioritize enhancing the overall customer experience. This
can be achieved by providing accurate and up-to-date menu information, offering
multiple payment options, enabling personalized order preferences, and facilitating quick
and convenient delivery or pickup options.
1.4.3 Improve Operational Efficiency:
Another objective of a food ordering system is to improve the operational efficiency of
the management, inventory tracking, and kitchen communication, reducing manual errors
and improving the speed and accuracy of order fulfillment.
1.4.4 Increase Sales and Revenue:
The system should aim to increase sales and revenue for the business by attracting more
customers and encouraging repeat orders. This can be achieved through features like
promotions, discounts, loyalty programs, and targeted marketing campaigns based on
customer data and order history.
1.4.5 Easing effort
The main objective of this system undoubtably is to provide effortless ordering and
delivering of food to the customer, this can be easily achieved by making website
available to customers and employing riders to take the food to the desired location of a
customer. This system also saves the login information of a customer in database which
helps to update the record of the customers in database.
This are the objectives that Food Delivery System is trying to achieve.

3.1 Picture Diagram

This is the Picture diagram of general food delivery system, where customer login into
the website and go through the menu or the pictures of food listed on the website. After
selecting the food which they want to eat they order it. When they order the food, they
have to select the payment method then the restaurant owner gives the food to the
delivery man and the delivery man takes the food to the customer with the help of GPS.

3.2 ER-Diagram

The diagram shown below is the ER-Diagram of the Food Deliver System. It shows the
relationship between the entity. In Food Delivery system there are many entities
involved, they are customer, orders, food, payment, delivery and category with different
and common attributes. And the relationship between them is defined by has, order
details, belongs to and have.

6. COST ESTIMATION

Cost Estimation is the estimation of the cost required to built the project. This includes
labor and hours, any facilities and vendors used project deadlines and timelines and
materials needed. In this project case the material need is Domain name, code that helps
to built the project and labor and hours which can be kept in others. Below is the table
show to calculate the estimation cost that can be required to built the Food Delivery
System website.
