Prep

Requirements:
Win7
MS Office (at least 2013)
Word
Powerpoint
Excel
Publisher
Photoshop

Things to do:
Make sure all computers are working
Buy 1 pair keyboard and mouse
Clean up Desktop
Leave only Word, excel, ppt, publisher, photoshop and google chrome on desktop
Add filters to firefox

DAY 1:

Orientation: 20 minutes

Lesson 1: Introduction

a) Give the history of the computer


b) Identify the basic parts of the computer

b. Monitor
c. Keyboard
d. Mouse
e. CPU
i. Power Supply
ii. Motherboard
iii. Processor
iv. Heat Sink
v. RAM
vi. Hard Drives
vii. Disk Drive
viii. Video Card

c) Describe its uses and function


d) Learn to log on and log off the computer
e) Learn to change the wallpaper of the computer
f) Creating own folder in the desktop

Activity: let the student point out the part of computer and let them identify its function.

Day 2:

Lesson 2: Introduction to Microsoft Word

a) Discuss the origin of the Microsoft word


b) How to open the Microsoft word in the taskbar bar, by using the start menu
c) The importance of Microsoft word
d) Basic part of Microsoft word
e) Shortcut keys in the keyboard
f) Saving documents

Activity: let them memorize or the shortcut keys

Let them practice in opening the Microsoft word application using the start menu

Day 3:

Lesson 3: The office drawing tools

a) The tools available for drawing


b) Drawing, moving, rotating, and otherwise editing simple shapes and lines
c) Autoshapes
d) Using color, patterns and visual effects
e) Ordering, grouping and aligning.
f) Working with text and word art.
g) Working with diagrams, organizational charts, clip art.

Activity: Show an example of Strip cartoon. Let them create their own strip cartoon by using the
drawing tools.

Day 4:

Lesson 4: The formatting toolbar

a) Review the basic parts of the Microsoft word.


b) Typing test: from the given copy of short story, allow the students to type it within 20
minutes.
c) Secure the text alignment, font size, font style used.
d) Adjusting the margin, line spacing.
e) Using the Bold, Italized, Underline.

Activity: give them short story to type. Give them the proper requirement like justify their works,
font size, font style, line spacing they are going to use.

Day 5:

Lesson 5: Introduction to Microsoft Power point Presentation

a) The origin of the Microsoft Power Point Presentation


b) Discuss the meaning of Microsoft Power point Presentation
c) Identify the Basic parts of Microsoft Power Point Presentation
d) Its uses and functions
e) Choosing slide design, slide lay out
f) Slide Show

Activity: let the student make a power point presentation about their self.

Day 6:

Lesson 6: Use image as slide background

a) Discuss the steps on how to set image as slide background in Microsoft Power point.
b) Inserting, Resizing and adjusting the image.
c) Using text box to type text in the slide.

Activity: allow the students to create power point presentation with image as slide background.

Day 7, 8, 9:

Lesson 7: Introduction to Microsoft Excel spreadsheet

a) The origin of Microsoft Excel


b) Basic parts of Microsoft and its uses.
c) Helpful hints for understanding the basic concepts of a spreadsheet, including:
 Cells, columns and rows.
 Cell coordinates
 Entering data into a spreadsheet cell
d) Setting up columns width, aligning the data in cell
e) Creating formulas
f) Making changes in a spreadsheet in a spreadsheet.
 Inserting columns and rows
 Deleting columns and rows.
 Merging the cells
g) Using mathematical functions like: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
h) Inserting chart in MS Excel

Activity 1. Let the students create the following

1.1 grading sheets


1.2 liquidation
1.3 make a survey by using the pie chart, line chart, bar chart, column chart

Note: Make sure that format will be given to the students.

Day 10, 11

Lesson 8: Introduction to Microsoft Publisher

a) Identify the meaning of Microsoft publisher


b) Basic parts and its functions
c) Creating different kinds of cards, booklet, and newsletter using MS Publisher.
d) How to print MS Publisher

Activity 1: Let the students create the following:


1.1 Invitation cards
1.2 Birthday cards
1.3 Mother’s Day cards
1.4 Calling Cards
1.5 Newsletter
1.6 Booklet

Day 12, 13, 14, 15

Lesson 9: Introduction to Photoshop

a) What is Photoshop?
b) What are the basic parts and its function?

Activities

1.0 changing eye, hair of an image using Photoshop.

1.1 Putting makeup of an image using Photoshop.


1.2 Inserting multiple images using Photoshop.
1.3 Changing the image background
1.4 Open multiple images as layers in photoshop
1.5 Removing acne and spot
1.6 Tarpulin making
1.7 ID making

NOTE: The students should create their own folder. The students should compile their activities their
folder
