CASE STUDY
I. You and your friends visited Bharat Darshan in Punjabi Bagh. Delhi which has replicas of popular
Indian monuments made up of waste materials. There you saw some replicas including the Gateway
of India, Mysore Palace, Hampi, Victoria Memorial Hall and Charminar, amongst others made from
about 350 tonnes of scrap material.

• Once the tomato soup comes to a boil, simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, gradually stir in the corn flour
mixture.
• Stir in sugar. Boil this well until the tomato soup thickens and the raw flavor of the corn has gone.
Cook until it reaches your desired consistency.
• Add black pepper and red chili flakes as per your taste and garnish it with coriander. Now your tomato
soup is ready.
Larger Numbers
In our previous classes, we have studied the following pattern regarding the smaller numbers :
The number next to 9 (i.e. successor of 9) is 10, i.e., 9+1= 10
The number next to 99 (i.e. successor of 99) is 100, i.e., 99 + 1 = 100
The number next to 999 (i.e. successor of 999) is 1000, i.e., 999 + 1 = 1000
Let us extend the same pattern to get the larger numbers :
We observe that the value of each place increases 10 times as we move one place from right to
left, i.e., ones to tens, tens to hundreds, hundreds to thousands, etc.
however, to read numerals of larger numbers without difficulty, we group the places into periods in
the place value chart.
These periods in the place value chart.
These periods are usually separated by commas (,)
There are two systems of place value chart, i.e., one is the Indian System of Numeration and the
other is International System of Numeration.
Qualitative Reasoning
Type I : Counting Figures
Directions (Q. 1 to 8) : Study the figures and answer the questions.
Some numbers can be arranged as rectangles. Arrange 14, 16, 18, 20 in rectangular pattern.
