Online Application & Official Document Deadline Overview
The first step to becoming a Brandon University student is to complete the online application form and submit the
non-refundable application fee. The online application opens October 1st each year for the next academic session
to all Graduate and Undergraduate programs. Programs not listed in the application after the login page means
the program deadline has passed.
Canadian applicants are Canadian citizens or Permanent Resident of Canada.
Applicants who need to change information on the application form after it has been submitted may contact the
Admissions Office to update the information providing you have not registered for classes. Do not submit another
online application form.

Important Application/Deadline Notes
All documents submitted become the property of Brandon University.
The application deadline and document deadline are the same date.
The online application, non-refundable application fee and all required official documents must arrive on
or before the stated deadline. Applicants must order all official secondary and post-secondary transcript
well in advance of the stated deadline to ensure they arrive before the deadline. Deadlines are subject to
change without notice. Prospective applicants are encouraged to consult the Admissions Office and
Faculty web site regularly.
Deadlines are in place to allow the Admissions Office time to process completed files and issue an Offer of
Admission. For international admits, deadlines should allow new admits enough time to obtain a Study
Visa before the intended start date.
Applicants must declare all post-secondary institutions attended and currently attending on the
application form.
Application & Documents Arriving After the Published Deadline
The online application opens annually on October 1 to anyone applying for the next academic year. Plan ahead by
ordering all your official secondary and post-secondary transcripts of all institutions attended and currently
attending well in advance of the stated deadline.
An application or documents arriving after the first Application & Document deadline will automatically be
considered for the next term in the same academic year (where applicable by program). If the application or
documents arrive after the last Application & Documents deadline for the current academic year, the applicant will
be required to reapply and submit the non-refundable application fee to be considered for the next academic year.

International applicants are encouraged to request all official high school and post-secondary transcripts to be
sent to our office before submitting the online application to facilitate the timely arrival of documents prior to the
application deadline. Documents will be reviewed once the application form and non-refundable application fee
are received.
What are the Required Documents and what is considered Official?
Once your application has been submitted, Admissions will send you an email document request outlining what
needs to be submitted. A variety of documents are required to complete the admissions process. You can review
Required Documents on our Admissions website.
Official documents are secondary (high school) and post-secondary transcripts sent directly from the school or
University/College arriving in a sealed envelope, and a recognized English language proficiency result sent directly
from the examination centre. Other documents may be requested and could include, for example, a copy of the
Driver’s License to verify proof of age or a copy of a marriage certificate to verify name change. All documents
submitted become the property of Brandon University.
Transcripts
Transcripts not in English must be translated by a certified translator along with a note indicating they received the
documents in a sealed envelope. The original transcript and the English translation must be sent to the Admissions
Office.
Unofficial transcripts for Canadian applicants may be submitted by email in order to make a conditional offer of
admission. Official documents must be submitted later to confirm any such offer. Final official transcripts must be
sent from the school/degree granting institution, Examination Authority or from the applicant providing the
transcript remains in the sealed envelope from the institution.
International applicants must have official transcripts submitted directly from the degree granting
institution/Examination Authority, or they may be accepted from the applicant providing the transcript remains in
the sealed envelope from the institution.
English Language Proficiency
English language proficiency test scores recognized by Brandon University must arrive directly from the testing
centre.
Transfer Students
Apply well in advance of the stated online application & official document deadline for those seeking transfer
credit. The transfer evaluation process may take up to 8 - 12 weeks to complete depending on the time of year.
Applicants must declare on the application form all post-secondary institutions attended and currently attending.
Transfer applicants will be asked to submit an official high school transcript (and English translation where
applicable) to verify pre-requisites have been meet in order to take some University level courses which have high
school pre-requisites.

Office.
International Student Visa
Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply well in advance of a deadline to allow enough time to process your
Study Visa. Processing times vary greatly from one region to the next around the world.
