Performance Task 3

From among the five phases of Teaching Internship, which seems to be difficult? Why?

The third portion of my teaching internship appears to be the hardest for me. In phase 3,
it is primarily focused on aiding my cooperating teacher in completing teaching-related duties,
checking seat work and performance tasks, and completing school forms, which appears tough
for me because some of the chores, particularly the school forms, are unfamiliar to me. Though it
is difficult, my cooperating teacher is very kind and patient in guiding me through my tasks.

WRITING MY REFLECTION
How can I enjoy my Teaching Internship to the fullest?

I can make the most of my teaching internship by having fun while learning alongside my
students. To enjoy this journey, I must make friends with my students while also ensuring that
there is mutual respect between the instructor and the students. I need to give my best in all tasks
that I will intend to do.

We were deployed at Isabela National High School today and had orientation with the principal,
dean, and head of the MAPEH, but unfortunately, Sir Jun had an emergency, so Sir Jimmy was
the one who assisted us. After the orientation with the heads, Sir Jimmy took us to the MAPEH
faculty and introduced us to the other MAPEH teachers as well as our cooperating teachers. I
met my cooperating teacher, Ma’am Cherry Ann Manalo, and after that, she told me about the
grade level she’s handling, and she told me that tomorrow I'd accompany her so that I could meet
all the students in grade 10 that she’s handling.

2/01/23

Today, I assisted Ma’am Cherry Ann in Grade 10 with six sections, and she let me introduce
myself to the students, and she was doing the grades of the grade ten students because their
report cards were due on Friday. Ma’am Cherry Ann allowed me to spend time getting to know
the students; so that I could learn a little bit about them while she’s busy making their grades.

Performance Task 3 - Writing My Reflection

After observing the classes of your Cooperating Teacher whether in face-to face or
distance delivery mode, what aspects in the instructional cycle, do you think you are now
capable of doing and the areas you still need to improve on?

I can say that my cooperating teacher is a terrific and adaptable teacher after observing her class.
I learned a lot of methods, approaches, and instructional materials that I can apply to my teaching
when I eventually become a real teacher. Establishing learning objectives, creating
learning opportunities, and assisting students with their learning are components of the
instructional cycle that I believe I can do.

Learning Task 3 – Managing My Classroom Structure and Routines
Performance Task 1 – Being oriented on protocols for classes in the learning modality employed
by the school.
Observe / assist your Cooperating Teacher. List down some routines that he/she has done for
classes in the learning modality employed by your Cooperating School to make sure that the
class is managed well. Include some notes or points of improvement which you think will have
worked during the class.

Performance Task 2 – Assisting the Cooperating teacher in preparation and implantation of class
guidelines for holding classes through distance learning modalities. During asynchronous or
modular class sessions, what routines can you suggest to the parents so that their children will
have more effective learning outcomes? Design an effective class routine outline which parents
can use at home.
- Set up a daily family routine, including healthy eating and sleeping habits.
- Provide a place and time at home for homework.
- Check on assignments, homework, and projects.
- Talk each day with your child about his/her activities.
- Promote literacy by reading to your child and by reading yourself.
- Limit and monitor TV watching, gaming, social media, and computer time.
- Express high expectations and standards for your child’s learning
- Attend parent-teacher conferences, Open House, and Back-To-School events.
- Participate in decisions that affect your child’s education.
- Tap into community resources with visits to a library, museum, zoo, or theater and
encourage participation in after-school clubs, sports, and art activities.

- Engaged parents are a key factor in helping students and schools succeed. With families,
schools, and communities working together as partners, student achievement is enhanced,
and children are better prepared to do well in school.

Performance Task 3 – Read the different situations below and suggest a positive and non-violent
way to address the student’s behavior.
Case no 1. Jacob is a new student in your school. He does not seem to fit well with the other kids
who have already established friendships with other kids. This result in Jacob being aloof and
withdrawn. He does not participate in class discussions and seems uncomfortable during group
activities. You know he is smart because his written works are almost always done perfectly.
How will you help Jacob?
- I will help Jacob improve his social abilities. I will advise him on how to handle potential
social situations. This might be as simple as him encouraging others to establish eye
contact and be pleasant.
Case no 2. Mia is a smart student but is very talkative. She is always out of turn and this results
in disruptions during class. She usually tells her seatmates stories which are irrelevant from the
topic being discussed. How will you help Mia?
- I will help her by moving closer to Mia, and I will assist her with her misbehavior. I'll
stand next to or behind her desk. Sometimes, but not always, I place my hand on her
shoulder and continue our conversation.
WRITING MY REFLECTION
Complete the statement:
Having effective class routines and sound class structure is important because:
It prepared and conditioned students for the lessons and discussions. Furthermore, it improves
the flow of the class for both teachers and students by aligning the things they need and are
expected to do. It also aids in the creation of smoother transitions between tasks, resulting in less
disturbances. Another thing is that it saves time for the teachers and allows them to focus on the
content of the lesson rather than the structure because of predictable routines. On the other hand,
students thrive and behave when they know the boundaries, thus focusing on their performance.

Performance Task 2 – Developing contextualized instructional materials appropriate for the
demonstration teaching modality.
Choose a topic from the list of lessons of your Cooperating Teacher and collaborate with
him/her in designing and creating contextualized instructional materials for the class. You may
also surf the net for samples to better guide you in preparing these materials. Provide photos,

Contextualized Instructional Materials How These Will be Used
- Writing The students discuss the proposed story and
exchange ideas, using formal or informal
techniques to define the plot from beginning
to end and decide how to break up the story to
fit each page based on industry practices or
their own style. The students create a script
for the story, describing scenes, characters,
dialogue, and instructions.
- Drawing
The students read the script, make a
thumbnail to decide how each scene should be
arranged on the page, begin drawing each
page in pencil using a thumbnail as a guide,
and consider the overall effect before
proceeding. Students darken the main
elements and add background and details. The
student who's assigned to editing may make
changes to pencil drawings to correct errors or
shorten dialogue, use a variety of pens and
brushes to produce a finished black and white
page with their own unique style that adds to
the artist's original drawings, and lastly, select
a typeface to convey the words, sound effects,
- Coloring and narratives in the script.

Students add colors and prepare four-color

separation films for the finished pages, which
are then scanned into a computer. They add
colors to the digital outlines of each page
using a custom software package to match the
color guide or achieve special effects. The
computer also stores information about the
colors of characters to ensure they look the
same. Color variations depend on the
concentration of each of the four-color
components, such as 80% magenta and 87%
yellow, in a particular shade of red. Students
- Printing print plastic film to represent the location and
concentration of each color component on
each page.

The pages of a comic book are usually printed

on two or more sides of a single sheet of
paper. When stacked on top of each other and
folded in the middle, the pages appear in the
correct order. On some printing presses, up to
eight pages can be printed on each side. Light
is projected through plastic films and onto
aluminum printing plates, which are coated
with a chemical that is sensitive to light. The
front and back sides of a sheet are printed at
the same time, with water flowing over the
rotating plates and rollers and colored ink
pressing against them. The four colors are
printed in a single pass, then cut, stacked,
folded, and stapled to form the comic book.

Performance Task 3 – Visit the website listed below or scan the given QR code. This contains a

WRITING MY REFLECTION
Answer the given question below:
How do instructional materials and ICT tools help students learn more effectively and
efficiently.
The main knowledge that students will encounter, acquire, and apply throughout a course
is provided via instructional materials. For optimal effect, they must be properly planned,
selected, structured, developed, and used in a course. To improve student learning, planning and
selection should include both breadth and depth of information.
