Sipho Practical Batch Operation

This document provides instructions for a laboratory experiment on distillation. The objective is for students to become familiar with distillation unit operations. The needed equipment includes a distillation unit with columns, pycnometers, and a 2 L test solution of ethanol and water in a 1:1 molar ratio. The procedure involves pouring the test solution into the distillation unit's boiler, turning on the heating and refrigeration, and collecting 10 sample fractions to analyze composition and temperature.
