Recommendation Letter

Commitment to Public Service is one of the core values needed in any

organisation especially in Government Service where, the applicant Parikshat Kadan
is currently a member. Without being committed to Public Service, one cannot
succeed in achieving the organisational goals be it the government or the private
sector.

2. The applicant is very much committed and interested in policy areas such as
laws, rules and regulations, judgements and case studies pertaining to the
government programmes. This is since being a law graduate and a current policy
implementor on behalf of the government it is important for the applicant to get a
clear understanding in Legal & related areas which this course would help him to
achieve. The applicant would like to have a better and clear understanding about
the various policy areas. The applicant has excellent writing and analytical skills, he
is intellectually very curious and has a craving for learning. He is self-motivated,
energetic and has immense persistence regarding the task to be achieved. He is
very responsive to creative feedback and has independence of thought and action in
his ideas.

3. The applicant is a Political Science Graduate and subsequently completed his

Law degree from Delhi University. His academic experiences in obtaining the above
degree’s and in addition later clearing the Indian Civil Services Examination and
becoming a career diplomat by Joining the Indian Foreign Service I believe have
shaped his career goals. The Applicant is very much interested in pursuing the LLM
Programme course as he is a policy & planning administrator.

4. I would recommend that the applicant be enrolled in the Case Western Reserve
University (LLM) degree program to get a better understanding in the various facets
of Law. Case Western University is renowned for its course in LLM and attending the
programme would give him a better perspective in the art of legal policy making and
implementation. As a Civil Servant in a developing country, it would give him a
chance to have a better grasp of the realties/problems faced in the art of policy
making and implementation, to achieve a better delivery of the policy at the ground
level.

5. The applicant hopes to gain a better understanding about both practical and
theoretical aspects Law by attending the program. The concept of Law is very
diverse and has multi-layered facets that requires a detailed study to get to the very
core of Legal policy. The programme would give the applicant good insights that
would help in the making and implementation of various policies in this field.
6. The applicant’s motivation to study the subject at post-graduate level even after
putting in 14 years of experience in his organisation: government makes him an ideal
candidate for the programme. The applicant’s suitability and potential for the
programme comes from his background, Bachelors in Political Science from Hindu
College, Delhi University and LLB from Faculty of Law, Delhi University both of which
are very renowned institutions in India and his current profile, a career diplomat in
the Indian Foreign Service. My level of recommendation and support for the
Applicant, Parikshat Kadan to be admitted to this course would be of the highest
level and exemplary due to his excellent academic record and his current job profile.
He would be an asset for the course and the Institution (if selected) for the
programme.
