The course exposes students to techniques used in the measurement of civil engineering works and preparation of a typical bill of quantities for the same.

Course Goals:
To enable the students to read and translate technical drawings and quantify work items as per the Standard method of Measurement and Preparation of
Bills of Quantities for Civil Engineering Works

Course Objectives/Course Learning Outcomes:


By the end of this course you should be able to:
1. Measure accurately items of civil engineering works.
2. Apply their knowledge of the civil engineering construction and quantify the works using the principles of measurement laid down in the civil
engineering standard method of measurement. [ECSA ELO 2]
3. Prepare a typical Bill of Quantity for Civil Engineering Works. [ECSA ELO 2,5]
