 General Information
The myPage 2.0 Complete operates on Wordpress. The system has been individualized and configured ac-
cording to the design and stylesheet requirements of the brand. Various additional elements and almost 30
individual designs have been developed to identify with the look and feel of Lufthansa City Center.

The myPage Complete website is managed completely autonomous by the LCC agency. The first draft comes
with some sample layouts which can be modified or deleted. The agency is responsible for placing the manda-
tory elements such as Imprint, Terms&Conditions and Privacy Policy on the website.

SSL Certificate
An SSL certificate is a type of digital certificate that provides authentication for a website and enables an en-
crypted connection. These certificates communicate to the client that the web service host demonstrated
ownership of the domain to the certificate authority at the time of certificate issuance. The cost for a SSL cer-
tificate are 50€ for 3 years and can be ordered directly at [email protected].

Cookiebot
According to the The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy Directive (ePR) , all websites
had to give a cookie disclaimer to their users about the fact that they set cookies on the user's browser. The
purpose of cookie consent banners therefore was to alert the users of the website about the cookies and
get consent for setting them. We evaluate the service from https://www.cookiebot.com/en/ as the most se-
cure. The costs for this bot vary depending on the complexity of the page. The tool is free for a website that
has less than 100 subpages.

Image
Please be aware to have the correct copy right to publish any image on your website. Also, make sure to keep
the images that you upload as small as possible to not influence the page speed. The ideal size is about 1 MB.

The different design elements with the corresponding sizes are explained in this document. We recommend
using the free tool www.canva.com to cut your image to the needed size. If the image is to big please use
resizer programmes such as https://tinypng.com/

Translations:
The website is available in different languages. Some of the buttons on the website still need translation. This
translation can at the moment only be done by LCC Headquarters. Just let us know and we will take care.

 Good to Know

Texts (SEO & Readability User):

1. H1 must be used on each page.
2. Existing texts: Skim and fit into elements of template.
3. Headings & reading flow: a short introduction to the topic and additional headings above the text
sections should be used.
H2: At least one H2 must be used as a subheading, more if the length of the text allows it. Rule of
thumb: use one H2 for each paragraph (around 150 words). Headings should contain between 30
and 70 characters. Depending on the structure more (H3-H6).
4. Text length: texts should be 500-800 words long. It depends on the topic and optimal text length
varies. Some pages can get by with 200 characters. Keep in the back of your mind: Write texts for
users, but make them readable for bots.

 Work with internal linking
 Linking strategy: make each page accessible within two to three clicks from the home page. Goal:
Orientation, hierarchy, and direct paths.
 Links should be relevant to the topic and have anchor text that matches the linked page. Be as mean-
ingful as possible: Wrong: Anchor text "vacation" links to domain.de/summervacation and do-
main.de/wintervacation: Which page should now rank for the keyword "vacation"?

Please note image process (SEO & loading time):

1. Upload images to Canva (www.canva.com) or other tool of choice and crop to the new size needed
(see section about sizes).
2. Save crop as JPG & use short speaking file name. What can be seen on the image?
3. Check image size & compress if necessary. Ideally, the size should be 100-150kb max. Please do not
exceed 1 MB. Resolution of 72 or 96 ppi is sufficient for online (https://tinypng.com/ or
https://compressjpeg.com/ ).
4. Image data in the media pool: upload images in the appropriate folder and fill image data. After that,
link the image to the corresponding page.
i. Title: Here, if not already done before uploading, at the latest now the image title should
be made speaking. This information is used for the order in the media library and is
searchable afterwards.
ii. Alternative text: Here the image should be described in more detail. The alternative text
is displayed when an image is not loaded or not yet loaded, or it is read aloud by screen
readers for people with visual impairments. It is also needed by search engines for
meaningful indexing.
iii. Caption: Is only needed if you want a caption to be displayed below the image in the
frontend. If not, leave this area blank.
iv. Description: Detailed description of the image. Will be displayed on attachment pages
and is relevant for search engines.
