II. INTERACTION
B. Firm-Up (20 minutes)
Teacher Activity
The teacher will …
1. conduct activity related to the topic.
ACTIVITY
The radius of circle O is 5 units. Find the

b. What mathematics concepts or principles did you apply to find the
length of each arc?
2. discuss theorems involving inscribed and central angles. Every theorem will be
also provided by examples.
Student Activity
The students will …
1. prove theorems related to chords, arcs, central angles, and inscribed angles
using the activity provided.

C. Deepen ( 10 minutes)
Teacher Activity
The teacher will …
1. deepen the discussion by applying algebra in the topic geometry.
PROBLEM
Measure angle GOF = 7x + 10, measure angle GFO = 8x + 20, measure angle
DOF = 3y – 12, measure angle LFO = 2y – 3, and Arc OL is congruent to Arc DF.
Find measure angle GOF, measure angle DOF, and measure angle LFO.
SOLUTION
Because angle OGF is inscribed angle in a semicircle, angle OGF is a right
angle. Hence, angle OGF is a right triangle ang angle GOF and angle GFO are
complementary.
Measure angle GOF + measure angle GFO = 90
7x + 10 + 8x + 20 = 90
15x + 30 = 90
15x = 60
x=4
Thus, measure angle GOF = 7x + 10 = 7(4) + 10 = 38
Because Arc OL is congruent to Arc DF, Angle DOF is congruent to Angle LFO
Measure angle DOF = measure angle LFO
3y – 12 = 2y – 3
y=9
Thus, measure angle DOF = 3y – 12 = 3(9) – 12 = 15 and measure angle LFO =
2y – 3 = 2(9) – 3 = 15.
Student Activity
The students will …
1. find the measurement of angle OSF, SLD, and SDL.

III. INTEGRATION
D. Transfer
