LESSON PLAN

Subject: LA Date: 8th to 19th May,2023.

Topic: Human Body
Teacher: Srijana Gurung
Grade: 6
1. How will the students’ attention be garnered prior to the starting of the class?
-Students will be suggested to point sense organs and they will have to mention two uses of it and mention
any two preventive measures to take care of it.
-Start with objectives, start with movement, class room activities etc.
2. State different ways of recalling prior knowledge.
- Pre-learning activities and brainstorming, mind mapping and probing.
3. What is the objective of the lesson? (Needs to be shared with the students)

 Understand the structure and function of the skeletal system

 Identify the different types of bones and their features
 Explain how bones are connected and work together to support the body
 Understand the role of the skeletal system in protecting organs and producing blood cells

Understand the different types of joints in the body.

Identify the structure and function of joints.
Explain how joints work together to allow movement.
Understand the importance of maintaining healthy joints.

Understand the structure and function of the muscular system.

Identify the different types of muscles and their features.
Explain how muscles work together to enable movement.
Understand the importance of maintaining healthy muscles through exercise and nutrition

4. How will your present information on the topic? (e.g. Text book, video, website)
Audio: Questions will be asked to the students to check their listening skills and improvise accordingly.
Reading and writing: make students to read the important topic from the chapter and make students to write
the complete exercise in their note copy in good handwriting.

What different methods will be used in providing guidance and support?

-Explanation and lecture, show and tell, provide contents related to the subject matter, YouTube videos.
Dr. Binocs videos will be shown to the students.
5. How students will be encouraged for their maximum performance?
Assessment:
Handouts with bone labeling exercises
Worksheets with bone function questions
Videos or animations about bone structure and function
Bone structure: Introduce the different types of bones in the body and their features, such as long
bones, short bones, flat bones, and irregular bones. Show diagrams or a skeleton model to illustrate
bone structure.
Bone function: Provide students with a worksheet with questions about the functions of bones, such
as supporting the body, protecting organs, and producing blood cells. Have them work in pairs or
small groups to complete the worksheet.
Bone connections: Explain how bones are connected through joints and how they work together to
support the body's movements. Demonstrate the movement of joints and show how they are held
together by ligaments and tendons.
Bone protection and blood cell production: Explain how the skeletal system protects organs such as
the brain and spinal cord with the skull and vertebral column. Introduce the bone marrow and explain
how it produces blood cells.
Assess students' understanding of the skeletal system by having them label a diagram of the skeleton
with the different types of bones and their features. Provide feedback on their accuracy and provide
suggestions for improvement.
Types of joints: Introduce the different types of joints in the body, such as ball-and-socket joints,
hinge joints, and pivot joints. Show diagrams or models of each type of joint.
Joint structure: Discuss the structure of joints, such as the bones, cartilage, synovial fluid, and
ligaments. Explain how each of these structures contributes to joint function.
Joint function: Show videos or animations that illustrate how joints work together to allow
movement. Discuss how joints enable a range of movements, such as flexion, extension, abduction,
and adduction.
Joint health: Explain the importance of maintaining healthy joints and preventing joint injuries.
Discuss common joint problems, such as arthritis and dislocations, and how they can be prevented or
treated.
Assess students' understanding of joints by having them label a diagram of the different types of
joints and their structures. Provide feedback on their accuracy and provide suggestions for
improvement.

Muscle structure: Introduce the different types of muscles in the body, such as skeletal, smooth, and
cardiac muscles. Show diagrams or models of each type of muscle and their features.
Muscle function: Discuss how muscles work together to enable movement, such as how biceps and
triceps work together to move the arm. Provide examples of different movements, such as flexion and
extension, and how they are made possible by the muscular system.
Exercise and nutrition: Explain the importance of maintaining healthy muscles through exercise and
nutrition. Discuss the benefits of regular exercise for muscle health, such as improving muscle
strength and endurance. Discuss the role of protein in muscle health and how it can be obtained
through a balanced diet.
Common muscle problems: Explain common muscle problems, such as muscle strains and sprains,
and how they can be prevented or treated.
Assessment:
Assess students' understanding of the muscular system by having them label a diagram of the
different types of muscles and their features. Provide feedback on their accuracy and provide
suggestions for improvement.

Different ways of providing feedback. (attachment of the feedback sheet after the completion of every
topic)

-Be positive, be specific, follow up and be consistent.

6. Mention the criteria/s for assessing the performance. (attachment of assessment form)
-Oral or written test, paper-pencil performance, standardized test, Q/A sessions etc.
7. What will be the various steps to retain and transfer knowledge?
Decide what information you need to transfer, choose a platform to facilitate knowledge transfer, Use
of technology, Mentoring, Social networking.
