Factory Radio Removal


Due to physical or electrical compatibility
limitations, radio replacement is not FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2
recommended. These instructions are for
the purpose of integrating aftermarket
accessories with the factory audio system.

1. Before proceeding, remove media from Lower Dash Trimpanel


factory unit if present.

2. Set parking brake and disconnect negative


battery cable to prevent any electrical short.

3. Pry off passenger’s side dash trim strip to


release five (5) clips and remove trim strip
(Figure 1). Passenger’s Side Dash Trim Strip
4. Pry down lower dash trimpanel to release
seven (7) clips and remove trimpanel

5. Pry out driver’s side console side trimpanel Center Console Cup Holder Panel
to release five (5) clips and remove panel
(Figure 3). Repeat this step for the
Driver’s Side Console Side Trimpanel
passenger’s side.

6. Pry up center console cup holder panel to


release twelve (12) clips. Disconnect wiring
harnesses and remove cup holder panel
(Figure 4).

7. Pry up gear shift trimpanel to release five (5)
clips. Lift trimpanel over shifter to remove. FIGURE 5 FIGURE 6
Wrap with a towel to protect finish and place Gear Shift Trimpanel
on console (Figure 5).

8. Pull climate control panel toward rear of Climate Control Panel


vehicle to release seven (7) clips. Disconnect
wiring harness and remove panel (Figure 6).

9. Remove four (4) 10mm screws securing


factory radio. Pull out radio, disconnect and
remove (Figure 7).

OEM Integration
This page addresses integrating aftermarket
accessories such as Bluetooth Adaptors,
R

Auxiliary Input Adaptors, iPod Adaptors,


R

etc., with a factory radio system.

1. Check instructions supplied with device


for location to connect device as radio
removal may not be necessary. If
necessary, remove factory radio following
instructions on the previous pages.

2. Follow instructions supplied with the


accessory device.

3. Connect optional adaptor to input.

4. IMPORTANT: Reconnect all wiring


harnesses including airbag, then Input
reconnect battery. Test operation of
adaptor and reassemble dash by
reversing disassembly steps.

! IMPORTANT
No speaker wiring adaptor is available at this time from
Crutchfield for this location. It will be necessary to splice FIGURE 1
wires in order to install an aftermarket speaker.

Some cutting may be required to allow speaker to fit.

1. Starting at the rear edge, pry up center dash


speaker grille to release six (6) clips and
remove grille (Figure 1).

2. Remove two (2) 10mm screws securing
speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 2).

3. Test fit speaker to determine if the mounting


tabs need to be trimmed off to allow a
proper fit. Remove speaker and trim off FIGURE 2
portions of tabs with a rotary tool.

4. Make wiring connections following


instructions on page 15. Return to this page
to complete installation.

5. Secure speaker to location.

6. Test speaker operation and reinstall speaker


grille.

! CAUTION
Always be careful when drilling or cutting in a vehicle. WEAR
EYE PROTECTION. Be aware of things such as wiring,

1. Starting at the rear edge, pry up corner


dash speaker grille to release two (2) clips
and remove grille (Figure 1).

2. Remove two (2) 10mm screws securing
speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 2).

3. Test fit speaker to determine if the mounting


tabs need to be trimmed off to allow a
proper fit. Remove speaker and trim off FIGURE 2
portions of tabs with a rotary tool.

4. Make wiring connections following


instructions on page 15. Return to this page
to complete installation.

5. Secure speaker to location.

6. Test speaker operation and reinstall speaker


grille.

! CAUTION

Crutchfield for this location. It will be necessary to splice FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2
wires in order to install an aftermarket speaker.

No speaker adaptor bracket is available at this time from Panel Tether


Crutchfield for this location. It will be necessary to fabricate
a mounting bracket in order to install an aftermarket speaker.

It is possible that the replacement speakers do not have PIllar Trimpanel


screws supplied. It may be necessary to acquire mounting
hardware.

1. Starting at the top edge, pry off front pillar


trimpanel to release one (1) clip (Figure 1).

2. Twist panel tether to release, lift pillar trim


panel, disconnect wiring harness and
remove trimpanel (Figure 2).

3. Pry tweeter out of pillar trimpanel to release
three (3) tabs and remove tweeter (Figure 3).

4. Fabricate a speaker mounting bracket and


secure new tweeter to bracket.

5. Make wiring connections following
instructions on page 15. Return to this page
to complete installation.

6. Secure speaker/bracket assembly to


location.

7. Test speaker operation and reassemble by


reversing disassembly steps.

1. Pry out screw cover behind door release


and remove one (1) exposed Phillips screw
(Figure 1).

2. Starting at the top corner, pry off “sail”
panel to release two (2) clips and remove
panel (Figure 2).

3a. Driver’s Side: Door Pull Outer Cover


 Remove one (1) Phillips screw from door
pull cup (Figure 3).

 Pry off door pull outer cover to release
clips and remove (Figure 4).
 Remove two (2) Phillips screws exposed

4. Starting at the rear edge, pry up power FIGURE 6

and remove panel (Figure 6).

sides and bottom of door panel to

door lock and release cables, then

7. Remove four (4) 10mm screws securing

speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect
and remove (Figure 10).

8. Secure speaker to adaptor bracket.

9. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of


replacement speaker to vehicle
speaker harness. Secure speaker/
bracket assembly to location with
screws previously removed.

10. Test speaker operation and reassemble
door panel by reversing disassembly
steps.

and remove one (1) exposed Phillips screw
(Figure 1).

2. Starting at the rear edge, pry off “sail” panel


to release three (3) clips. Pull panel toward Screw Cover
front of vehicle to remove (Figure 2). “Sail” Panel
3. Remove one (1) Phillips screw inside door
pull cup (Figure 3).

4. Starting at the rear edge, pry up power


options switch panel to release six (6) clips.
Disconnect wiring harness and remove
panel (Figure 4).

5. Starting at the lower corners, pry out sides
and bottom of door panel to release nine (9) FIGURE 5
clips. Disconnect door lock and release
cables. Remove door panel (Figures 5 & 6).

6. Remove three (3) 10mm screws securing


speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect
and remove (Figure 7).

7. Secure new speaker to adaptor bracket.

8. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of
replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker/bracket assembly
to location with screws previously removed.

Cargo Floor Panel
1. Remove cargo cover, cargo mat and cargo
net if equipped.

2. Fold down rear seat backs.

3. Lift cargo floor panel to remove (Figure 1).

4. Lift floor storage tray and remove (Figure 2).

5. Pry up hatch door latch trim to release
three (3) clips and remove trim (Figure 3). Driver’s Side Cargo Floor Panel

6. Pull up driver’s side cargo floor panel to


release two (2) clips and remove panel Hatch Door Latch Trim

7. Pull up passenger’s side cargo floor panel


to release one (1) clip and remove panel

8. Unscrew one (1) plastic nut inside storage
tray, then lift tray to remove (Figure 6).

9. Pry up cargo door scuff plate to release
four (4) clips and remove scuff plate
(Figure 7). Lower Rear Cargo Loop

10. Remove one (1) 10mm screw securing
lower rear cargo loop, then remove loop
(Figure 8).

11. Pry out screw cover at rear of cargo cover


rail, then remove one (1) exposed Phillips
screw (Figure 9).

12. Pry out screw cover at front of cargo cover


rail, then remove one (1) exposed Phillips
screw (Figure 10).

13. Pry open screw cover behind lower front


cargo loop, remove one (1) exposed Phillips
screw, then remove loop (Figure 11).

14. Pry out top edge of seat back latch


trimpanel on driver’s side, and remove one

15. Pry out sides and top of rear side panel
to release five (5) clips and remove panel FIGURE 13 FIGURE 14

16. Remove four (4) 10mm screws securing


enclosure. Disconnect wiring harness and
remove enclosure (Figure 14).

17. Remove twenty-four (24) Phillips screws


securing halves of subwoofer enclosure
together. Remove rear half of enclosure
(Figure 15). Rear Side Panel

18. Remove four (4) Phillips screws securing


subwoofer. Cut wires close to subwoofer to
remove (Figure 16).

19. Make wiring connections following


instructions on page 15. Return to this page

20. Secure subwoofer to enclosure with screws
previously removed.

21. Reassemble subwoofer enclosure, reconnect


wiring harness and test operation.

22. Reassemble rear of vehicle by reversing


disassembly steps.

Wire Splicing Guide These methods can be used to make wiring connections if no receiver or speaker wiring adaptor is available.
Wire color information (if available) can be found on the next page.

Factory harness is removed. Save New speaker wires are spliced into
