ROUTINES

When working with young learners and teens that require additional guidance in behavior
regulation, established routines are very beneficial. When routines and procedures are carefully
built, reproduced, and taught those routine in a way that students understand, they are more
confident and at comfortable in the classroom since they know what is expected of them in
various situations. These dependable patterns enable teachers to allocate more time in
meaningful teaching. Routines and procedures is essential in managing the classroom because it
allows the teacher to have a smooth discussion.

 My Tasks (Activities)
 A. Routines to be established to become a better classroom manager.

CLASSROOM ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES

There's a big difference between routines and rules. Rules tend to focus on expected individual student
behaviors, like being on time for class, respecting others, or not talking on the phone during instruction.
Routines are simply practiced responses to the teacher's directions that add structure to the day. "Rules
have consequences, and routines have reminders," says Rebecca Alber, a UCLA literacy specialist.

Respect yourself, the teacher & others

- Show respect for the teacher, yourself and others at all times.

Put forth your best effort at all times

Classroom procedures

- Always do your own best work.

Be prepared for class each day

- Come prepared with all materials necessary

Follow directions when given

- When directions are given, do your best to follow them the first time. If you are confused or have
questions, ask. I would rather have you stop class to clarify than be off task while everyone else is
working.

Pay attention, participate and ask questions

- Engage in what is going on in the classroom. If you have a question, ask it! Otherwise, I might not
know until the test that you didn’t understand something.

Preserve a positive learning environment

- Student actions that interfere with teaching or learning in the classroom will NOT be tolerated.

Take responsibility for your actions

- If you are confronted about a rule infraction, own up to it. Don’t deny it, lie about it, or blame
someone else.

CLASS routine

Arrive to class on time & ready to learn

Do not cheat, plagiarize, or copy work

- Cheating is completely unacceptable.

Use polite and appropriate language

- Offensive, derogatory, and profane terms are not tolerated.

Do your best work & turn it in on time

- Remember that the work that you turn-in is a reflection of your effort on the assignment.

Pick up after yourself before you leave

- Take all of your belongings, pick up any scrap papers around you, and put your desk back in line
before you leave each day.

 My Analysis
 Importance of establishing classroom routines.

ESTABLISHING CLASSROOM ROUTINES IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE:

Students understand what is expected of them and how to complete particular tasks on their own when
routines and processes are carefully taught, modeled, and established in the classroom. These reliable
patterns enable teachers to devote more time to purposeful teaching. Additionally, It establishes a
feeling of responsibility to the students and enables the learner to form a habit each time he or she
comes to school and it helps the teacher maintain effective classroom management.

My Reflections/ My Insights

 Enumerate your classroom routines

1. Arriving in the class.

I will make sure that all of the students are inside the classroom and let them clean their table or chairs
then I start the class by praying

2. Taking attendance.

In taking the attendance must be done daily so that I can monitor who

among my pupils are always absent and to ensure if they are all in good

situation

3. During lesson proper

During the lesson proper, it is a must that students know what are the learning objectives of our new
topics.I will make sure that the students engage in every activities especially the Motivation because it
boost their attention to me and to the lesson . During discussion I will make sure that students are
actively participated in ny class and let them ask questions when they have. Then give a plenty time to
Let the students do their activities/quiz and Giving Assignment

3. Posting reminders

I will have a bulletin where I can put reminders such as Reminding students to study their lessons , their
assignments for the next day, important announcement and what to bring the next day.

4. Throughout the day

If I don’t have classes, ill spend my time by resting or Checking the papers of daily quizzes or recording
quizzes that I haven’t record during the class. I will be Roaming around the school to check whether my
students attend their classes.

5. Ending the day

I'll make sure my students have a story to share with me at the conclusion of the day. I mean, I'll make
sure that they have learnt something from me at the end of the day and that I've accomplished all of my
daily goals. I make sure the classroom is tidy and secure before I leave.
