I - TECHNOLOGY VISION, MISSION, GOALS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

VISION

Anchored on the vision of the Department of Education, this institution

…envisions to take lead in digital literacy, culture and innovation across all curriculum
areas purposive to develop the creative and critical thinking and life skills critical to
success suited to the 21st century learners.

TECHNOLOGY GOALS

STUDENT OUTCOMES

Students will acquire technology skills as a means to an end, receiving practice in selecting and using various
technology applications to accomplish a wide variety of tasks.

Basic technology skills:


 Select and access technology appropriate to needs.
 Use correct starting and exiting procedures.
 Use technology independently and cooperatively.
 Use technology safely and ethically.
 Working toward proficiency, every student will be afforded the opportunity to acquire basic literacy,
mathematic, problem-solving, research skills, and keyboarding skills.
 Every student will possess and demonstrate basic keyboarding skills which will enable her/him to
navigate through a web page and to construct and edit a basic word processing document and power point
presentation.
 Every student will have equal access to an online experience on a daily basis for the online learning
resources.
 Every student will use information technology resources to engage in meaningful real world problem
solving experiences.
 Every student will utilize technology resources to engage in a meaningful arts experience.
 Every student will demonstrate the ability to complete a research project utilizing technology and
electronic and/or internet resources.
 Every student exiting grade 10 will demonstrate basic computer competencies and grade 12 will exhibit
manipulative skills for document, presentations and the like.

The administration staff will promote and support the technological training for all ANHS employees.

 All teachers will use technology to review, monitor and structure student learning and progress.

 All teachers will utilize quality software programs allowing teachers to more easily evaluate student
performance and present information in an easy to read format.
 All teachers will access current information to supplement teaching resources with electronic sources
and on-line services.

 All staff will utilize technology as a primary means of communicating with colleagues and the global
community.
 All school site administrators will utilize technology as the primary tool for communication with staff
and District personnel.
 Teachers and school site administrators will use technology to remain informed of the latest and most
successful teaching practices.

School IT Office (SITO)

This office will ensure the maximum utilization of technologies in all programs and
services, admission, alumni placement, library enhancement and access and communication to
parents thru the school’s portal. Integration of these facilities and programs in all instructions
across curriculum areas will be part of the function of this office. More so, this office is under the
direction of the Office of the Principal but will be indirectly connected to the Office of the Schools
Division Superintendent thru the Division IT Office. The said office will also assist in the
admission (particularly with the enrolment of the students to LIS), Placement of Alumni and
updating of Library and Learning Resource services as part of the maximum utilizations of the said
resource facility.

PROGRAM EVALUATION

The Division Office, District Office thru the designated ICT Coordinators from the said offices in coordination
with the Office of the Principal and the School’s ICT Coordinator and staff will annually assess and recommend
improvements for evaluation of the plan. Staff will be evaluated on how well they can design and implement learning
experiences (e.g., units of instruction) that empower students to solve authentic problems relating to an overall
theme/concept using the available technology (e.g., multimedia applications, internet, spreadsheets, word processing,
presentations).

After being reviewed, staff may be encouraged to add technology professional development components to their
personal growth plan.
II - ACCESS
REPLACEMENT, EXPANSION AND MAINTENANCE

Replacements and expansion of both Hardware and Software are deemed necessary to deliver the best and quality
services to the learners. Certain procedures should be observed for the replacement, expansion and maintenance as follows:

 There shall be a written request from the concerned office to formally inform the office of the principal the necessity of
repair or replacement of units.
 As for the software, the school IT Office shall conduct a monthly regular check-up of all unit operating system.
Updating the software for all outdated bundles. If the software are no longer supported by the manufacturer, the school
IT Office shall inform the Division ICT for this matter for more appropriate action.
 The Office of the Principal will inform the Supply Office to let the concerned sign-up a Requisition form. Date of
Requisition as well as the unit specifications should be recorded by the Supply Officer.
 Inspection will then follow and to be conducted by the school IT Office and the Supply Officer.
 If the Units are until warranty, refer to the warranty card for its processing. If not, refer to the School BAC for costing
analysis.
 The School BAC will then process if there is a need for replacement following the usual procurement procedures in the
government offices.
 Usual processes shall be observed like inspection and recorded before handling it over to the concerned office for
usage.

ANHS will continue to maintain technology in the following ways:

 Teachers will use technology to engage students in learning as they present content aligned to competencies and
learning standards.
 School ICT coordinator will demonstrate basic computer competencies including but not exclusive to the legal and
moral ethics of technological sharing and transfer of information.
 Teachers will remain current on the use of both computer applications and web based programs. For example
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related educational platforms to both instruct students and monitor
student performance.
INTEGRATION

ANHS is committed to the integration of technology in all curricular areas. The utilization of technological
resources will enhance the learning environment of students and teachers alike. ICT will integrate technology as an
effective tool to improve, support, and increase student learning to meet the competencies set by the Department of
Education. ANHS will provide powerful learning opportunities for all students. Students will be provided with
additional tools to address their particular learning style. In addition, staff and students will have an alternate means to
creatively express ideas and display knowledge.

ANHS will integrate technology into the curriculum in various ways.

FUNDING

The school’s technology plan will be received allocation from the school’s MOOE to empower and activate
technological development in the school. Other local grants and sponsorship from benefactors, alumni, PTA, and other sources
will also be accommodated under proper accounting and auditing to ensure transparency in the utilization of funds as such
these funds will be allocated to meet the individual needs of students to ensure academic success for all.

LEARNER’S INFORMATION

a. Learner’s Information System (LIS)

LIS is an institutional online platform in the Department of Education where information about
every learners are stored, both the personal data and the academic records. This platform being
centralized in the National Office of the Department, provides updated information in time of migration
of the learner from one school to another, keeping the necessary data needed.

b. E-Class Record

Another important application facilitating teachers in the records keeping of student’s rate, scores
and performances necessary for the computation of every learner’s grades for every grading period.

c. E-School Forms

ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY

The school has offered curriculum accommodating learner’s with special needs. As such, certain educational
applications facilitative for learners’ with special needs will be utilized in school. These platforms are readily available online
will accessed by the School IT Office (SITO) and teachers handling classes of these learners will also undergo orientation and
training of its usage in the classroom instruction.

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

A ICT Coordinator will be designated to assist teachers in meeting their individual curriculum technology needs. Our
school will be responsible for a schedule making sure each teacher has access to the support from the ICT Office.

All ICT staff will provide basic care, safe setup, and simple maintenance of classroom technology equipment.

The School ICT Coordinator and all staff will be available to assist teachers in meeting their instructional needs as it
relates to student achievement.

SCHOOL LAN

The School will utilized the LAN provided by the Department of Education and will upgrade it upon the evaluation of
the School IT Office (SITO).

Biometric will also be connected to the host PC for recording of attendance of all school personnel.

The SITO shall be responsible for the updating of the School webpage. It shall regularly update information whenever
there are changes. In the same manner, the SITO shall post announcements, releases and issuances pertaining to school
activities before and after it was done.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

ANHS will encourage and promote parent participation at the school level. ICT staff will incorporate technology
during parent meetings. Parents will be informed by newsletters and online inquiry as to where they might access technology
in our school. Information through Campus Portal will be made available to parents.

Parents will be provided information on how to access their child’s information through the parent portal. Parents will
be notified by the School Messenger System about important events. Our school webpage will provide contact information for
parents and teachers, as well as, information on current events.
IV – POLICIES, RULES AND PROCEDURES
POLICY COMPLIANCE

As a Data Processor, the school through the SITO will observe and maintain the integrity of the school by NOT
posting of videos, photos and other necessary information that may breach the Privacy of the members of the school. The SITO
shall regularly assess, screen and monitor materials, information and contents in compliance with Data Privacy Act, Anti-
Bullying Act and other existing laws of the country.

The use of electronic devices and access to e-mail and internet services (school devices and services) in school are
provided to students in order to support their educational and needs.

PURPOSE

This Policy is intended to inform parents and students of our school’s expectations when students are using the devices
and services provided by the school and when using their personal equipment to communicate to or about members of the
school community.

POLICY AND PROCEDURES

Laptop computers and other electronic devices and services are necessary educational tools and must be used in a
responsible manner. This policy can never anticipate all possible advances and uses of technology and therefore students who
are unsure about their usage should seek clarification from a teacher as soon as possible. If a student acts in a way that is
against the contents of the policy, he or she will be subject to consequences according to the school’s Rules and Regulations
and if necessary offending material may be confiscated.

The school reserves the right to capture, store and review all internet browsing and emails across our school
network, including any unauthorised access. Devices may be taken or accessed if it is believed that:

 There has been or may be a breach of the school rules or policy

 There may be a threat of harm to a student or others or system security.


SCHOOL - OWNED LAPTOP, COMPUTERS & SIMILAR DEVICES

The school has supplied laptop computers and similar devices for the personal educational use of some secondary
students as deemed necessary. Therefore, the student shall have the following additional responsibilities:

 To care for the laptop/device to the best of their ability


 To keep the laptop/device secure and protect it from any malicious damage.
 To bring the laptop/device to school each day in readiness for use in the classroom – this includes having the
battery charged and electronic files effectively managed.
 To return the laptop computer/device (and any inclusions such as power cords and carry case) in good order
when leaving the school.
 To refrain from loading any unauthorised software onto the computer/device at any time.
 To refrain from any attempt to disable or bypass any of the computer’s filters, settings or safety devices
installed by the school.
 To refrain from sharing their login details and passwords with other students.
 To hand in the computer/device to members of teaching or administrative staff if requested to
do so.

PROHIBITED USES

Computers and similar devices have been provided for educational use only and use of the computers and similar
devices in any way that is contrary to this stated purpose may be seen as a breach of the Student Computer Use Agreement.

 Students are NOT permitted to play games on the computers at any time either during class or during breaks
(recess and lunchtime) and the School Rules and Regulations will be enforced in the case of students
breaking this rule.

 Students are NOT permitted to visit any websites in class other than those they have been specifically
directed to use by their teacher.
 Students are NOT permitted to load any computer games onto the computers either from installation discs,
USBs, the internet or by any other method.

CYBERSAFETY REQUIREMENTS
This part of the policy addresses the particular use of these technologies that has come to be referred to as
‘Cyberbullying’ The school will investigate and take action where this kind of bullying occurs in school and outside of school
when it causes significant harm to the relationships between students and or teachers, or is criminal in nature.

When using the school devices and/or services (including students using the school’s wireless network facilities to
support their own devices) students will:

 Ensure that communication through internet and email services is related to learning.
 Keep passwords confidential, and change them when prompted, or when known by another user.
 Use passwords that are not obvious or easily guessed.
 Log off at the end of each session to ensure that nobody else can use their e-learning account.
 Promptly tell their teacher if they suspect they have received a computer virus or spam (i.e.
unsolicited
email) or if they receive a message that is inappropriate or makes them feel uncomfortable.
 Seek advice if another user seeks excessive personal information, asks to be telephoned, offers gifts
by email or wants to meet a student.
 Ensure that copyright permission is gained before electronically publishing the works or drawings of
others.
 Always acknowledge the creator or author of any material published.
 Keep personal information including names, addresses, photographs, and telephone numbers, of
themselves or others, private.
 Ensure that school services are not used for unauthorised commercial activities, political lobbying,
online gambling or any unlawful purpose.

When using the school services (or similar personal equipment) students will not:

 Disable settings for virus protection, spam and filtering that have been applied by the school and not
attempt to evade them through use of proxy sites.
 Allow others to use their personal accounts.
 Deliberately use the electronic identity of another person to send messages to others or for any other
purposes.
 Enter ‘chat’ or ‘social networking’ internet sites without the permission of a teacher.
 Use unauthorised programs or intentionally download unauthorised software, graphics or music that
are not associated with the learning activity as directed by a staff member.
 Visit any websites other than those they have been specifically directed to by their teacher.
 Damage or disable computers, computer systems or networks.
 Disclose personal information about another person (including name, address, photos, phone
numbers)
 Distribute or use information which is copyrighted without proper permission.
 Take and/or publish photos or video of members of the school community without their consent.

When using school services students will never knowingly initiate or forward emails or other messages containing:

 A message that was sent to them in confidence.


 A computer virus or attachment that is capable of damaging recipients’ computers.
 Chain letters and hoax emails.
 Spam, eg unsolicited advertising material.

When using school services or non-school services students will never send or publish either through internet sites, e-
mail or mobile phone messages:

 Unacceptable or unlawful material or remarks, including offensive, abusive or discriminatory


comments.
 Threatening, bullying or harassing material or make unreasonable demands.
 Sexually explicit or sexually suggestive material or correspondence.
 False or defamatory information about a person or organisation.
 The school name or logo without the written permissionfrom the SITO.

When using Educational Applications and Networking Websites, students will never:

 Post any comments, messages, pictures, videos or audio that are not directly relevant to the
educational
purpose for which it is being used.
 Share their group passwords with others who are not part of the same Educational Application
Group.
 Use rude, unpleasant or offensive language.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR STUDENTS USING THEIR OWN LAPTOPS OR SIMILAR DEVICES
Any student wishing to use their own laptop, iPad or similar device at school will be issued with a password for the
school’s wireless network provided they give the school the ‘MAC address’* of their device so that the school’s network is
able to identify the device and set the appropriate internet protocols/ settings. This requirement will in no way affect the
student’s internet access outside of the school. The school warrants that this information will not be used for any other purpose.
Students who do not wish to provide this information to the school may not use their own device while at school.

*The MAC address is the unique hard coded ID of the network card of each computer.

Students need to be aware that all use of internet and email services, including unauthorised
access, can be monitored and traced to the accounts of specific users. Laptop computers and other
distributed devices may be recalled by the school at any time so that the usage and drive content
can be checked. The misuse of school services may result in disciplinary action which includes, but
is not limited to, the withdrawal of access to services.

POLICY UPDATES

This policy will be updated as necessary. All attempts will be made to adhere to the above policy, but particular
circumstances (such as technological advancements) may require the Management Group to depart from the stated policy for
updating.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The SITO, as an office shall be responsible for ensuring that the requirements of this policy are met and the correct
procedures are followed appropriately. Students are responsible for reporting any breaches of this policy to a teacher or to the
School Office as soon as they are known.

They are as well responsible for ensuring this policy is adhered to throughout the school along with the teachers.
Students and their parents are responsible for ensuring they read and understand this policy and abide by its requirements. The
Student Computer Use Agreement must be signed before students are given access to school based computer services or
student laptop computers.
