Robot or Not 1

This lesson plan introduces students in grades K-3 to robots through an activity where they sort picture cards of objects into piles of robots and non-robots. The goals are for students to understand what qualifies something as a robot and to recognize robots in everyday life. In small groups, students are given cards showing various items and sort them into the two piles. Then as a class they review each card and the students explain their sorting decisions. The lesson aims to broaden students' ideas of what a robot can be beyond fictional characters.
