Malaysia Monologue
Selamat pagi. Welcome to Malaysia, here we will explore the wonders this country holds. See
these kites? Well, Malaysians are told to be and live like this. Wandering freely at the sky and
roaming around, enjoying. Experiencing the bliss, juts letting the wind be the driver of this
wondrous journey that awaits. In the vast and blue skyline a Malay will surely be found living
like a kite high above the Petronas Twin Tower moving along with the prevailing wind forces.
One may ask, what do they wear?
Well, behold their very artistic, bold, and loud way of dressing as a cultural expression. Baju
melayu is what it’s called for men, a loose tunic paired with trousers and a sarong which is
known as sampin. Men also wear the traditional hat, called songkok or kopiah with it. Some men
prefer wearing batik shirts with trousers.
Singapore Monologue
Ni hao ma? What a lovely day to be around here in the gardens of lion city, Singapore. Oh, to
have someone that you can spend the rest of your life with and create a family together. A kind
of love that breeds all things positive, chan mali chan indeed. Just the feeling of warmth
belongingness, and a sense of familiarity. Singaporeans really do like love, don’t you think? One
thing you will also love about Singapore is how they present themselves with the most vibrant
clothes during festivities. Men are dashing with their tang suit. Tang suit is a type of jacket that
has a collar and a knot at the belly and is mostly floral. Fun fact, it has been named after the Tang
empire! Singaporean women however are the brightest with their Cheongsam.
Indonesia
Selamat siang, let's unravel the wonder of Indonesia. This country was formerly known as the
Dutch East Indies. Almost three-fourths of Indonesia’s area is embraced by Sumatra,
Kalimantan, and western New Guinea; Celebes, Java, and the Moluccas account for most of the
country’s remaining area. Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia. Si Patokaan is a traditional song
from North Sulawesi, it has a lot of meaning about a son who went to immigrate from his
hometown to the city with the hope he could reach the success. His mother who loved him badly
gave some advice to him to survive there. Indonesian people are very family oriented. Family
holds the most important meaning for Indonesian culture.
Today the most widely recognized Indonesian national costumes include batik and kebaya.

Thailand
"Sawatdii", here we are in Thailand, a fascinating country with its diverse geography, friendly
people, and stunning scenery. It is well known as "Land of Smiles" where the smile is much
more than just a smile. On top of that, building a social life here is like building a block it is
more challenging in the course of time. So, friendship is the first thing you need when it comes
to developing a relationship. Likewise, Thailand is home of Buddhist temples, exotic wildlife
and spectacular islands. Bangkok is the capital of this country and Thai a native who inhabit in
Thailand. They are formerly known as Siamese. Most Thai people are followers of Theravada
Buddhism.
Traditional Thai clothing is called chut Thai, which literally means 'Thai outfit'. It can be worn
by men, women, and children. It can be worn on any occasion like festivals, ceremony and
wedding.
Cambodia

Without any delay, we will explore anything this country has to offer but none to withhold. From
its critically acclaimed Angkor Wat to the fascination brought by the Khmer Civilization,
Cambodia contributes some of the most unique heritages in South East Asia. Phnom Penh, being
hailed as the pearl of Asia, is the country's capital and home of Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda
they proudly boast for. Chak Terk Dong, a Khmer music that became globally renowned
recently is about a traditional game that kids play in some festive events like Khmer New Year.
As you can see, the Cambodian Flag is the only flag in the world that features a figure of a
building.
The traditional Cambodian attire is known as sampot, a long, rectangular cloth worn around the
lower body which is also similar to that from Laos and Thailand. Generally speaking, sampots
are made from a beautiful piece of embroidered silk and is considered an important part of the
country's identity. If you find Cambodia amusing, you better not get easily mesmerized by the
next set of countries that will further emblematize our similarities as SEA dwellers.
Laos

of landlocked country of northeast-central mainland Southeast Asia. My Heart is in Chiang
Tong, emphasizes the elegance and beauty of Laotians. As a Buddhist country, The majority of
the population has various beliefs concerning sacred places and objects.
Xout Lao is the traditional clothing of men, women, and children in Laos.
Their colorful culture tells us how wonderful they are, from their amazing scenery, ethnic
villages, and unexplored lands. As an individualistic country, they believed that Caring is only
for yourself and the closest relationships stems directly from Buddhist belief that each person is
responsible for his/her own action. The "simply beautiful" country brings you tons of new and
fresh experience. "Man ngam Lao, pathedlav thisuanyngam! Laos!
Myanmar

The country boasts a plethora of breathtaking locales, including the renowned Shwedagon
Pagoda in Yangon, the grandiose temples of Bagan, and the serene Inle Lake.

Brunei

fascinating, most remarkable facts beyond reasonable doubts. Blessed as the land where corrupt
politicians are almost non-existent, women also provide their utmost cooperation for their
country's economy while having one of the best healthcares in Asia and lowest of the lowest
crime rates. The country is also home of Istana Nurul Iman, the largest palace and royal
residence in the world according to the Guiness Book of World Records. As you can see, this is
the flag of Brunei which bears three colors with subliminal meaning in it. The yellow dye
symbolizes the sultan while the white and black serve as the sultan's two chief ministers. As for
the focal figure, the mast and pedestal represent the three levels of government and the four
feathers symbolize justice, tranquility, peace, and prosperity. The hands represent that the
government preserves and promotes the welfare of the citizens. The crescent symbolizes Islam,
the state religion.
Vietnam
“Xin chào” Are you ready to explore the beautiful country of Vietnam? I can’t hear you!
Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country located on the eastern edge of the Indochinese Peninsula. It
has a population of over 97 million people, making it the 15th most populous country in the
world. Vietnam is definitely a country of natural wonders, has rich history, diverse culture,
stunning natural landscapes, historical sites, delicious cuisine, and a lot of tourist destination that
it has to offer. Did you know that traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, such as the dan
bau and the dan tranh, were designed to mimic the sounds of nature? Yes, it is worth noting since
Vietnam is a country with a diversified natural environment that provides inspiration for artists
and musicians throughout the ages, who have sought to capture the beauty and majesty of the
natural world in their works. Do you guys want to know the most striking aspects of Vietnamese
culture?
Their traditional costume known as the ao dai, it’s a long, flowing gown worn by both men and
women. The ao dai is usually made of silk or cotton and is often decorated with intricate
embroidery and patterns. The dress has become a symbol of Vietnamese identity, and it is often
worn on special occasions, such as weddings and festivals.
Philippines

and hospitality of the Filipino people. Given the variety of destinations for travelers in the
Philippines, the huge metropolis of Manila, the country's capital, brings back the appealing idea
of the image of an island paradise.
You thought of what the Filipino people wear? Have you heard Baro’t Saya and Barong? These
are the traditional Filipino dresses that symbolize rural life in the Philippines, and it is often worn
to represent one’s Filipino culture and identity. Baro’t Saya is made out of fine cloth or piña also
known as pineapple fiber and Barong is made of sheer lightweight but stiff fabric which is
usually woven from piña or abaca fibers.
