MIDTERM EXAM – SPEAKING - Subject: Tiếng Anh 1

Part 1: Personal information


Note: Students will be asked 4 questions, each of which is from the above four
topics.
Lifestyle:
- How often do you eat out?
=> I dont have a lot of money so I often eat at home to save money.
- How do you usually spend your free time?
=> I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends. We may go out to eat,
watch movies, play games.

- Are you reading any good books at the moment?


=> Yes, I'am reading a book at the moment. The name of this book is "I'm Beto"
- Where do you normally go on holiday?
=> I normally go home on holiday because I miss my family
Competitions:
- What sport do you play?

=> I play football . This sport helps me to relax and improve my health.

- What sport would you like to try?


=> I would like to try playing vollleyball . Playing volleyball can make me taller
- What sport is the most popular in your country?

=> The most popular sport in my country is football . Because it is very easy to play,
suitable for all genders, and all ages.

- Which sport do you not like watching?


=> The sport I don't like is volleyball. I find it boring
Transport:
- How do you go to university every day?

=> I go to university by motorbike everyday .  Because it's very convenient, and I can
be more proactive in terms of time.
- Which type of transport is the most popular in your city?
=> I think motorbike is the most popular transport in my city. Because motorbikes are
very convenient, easy to use, and the price of motorbikes is suitable for many people.
- How do you feel about public transport in Ho Chi Minh City?
=> I am very surprised about buses in Ho Chi Minh city. It's very cheap and has discounts
for students. Drivers are careful and it's convenient for all ages
- Are there often traffic problems in your city?
=>In my city traffic is very safe. People drive very carefully.
Challenges:
- Are you a person who takes risks or are you usually very careful?
=> I am a risk taker. I love to learn new things and am up for a challenge. I believe
I can get over it.
- What is a big achievement in your life so far?
=> My biggest achievement in life right now is going to university. I tried my best
to study and I'm very proud of it.
- What will be a big challenge for you in the future?
=> The biggest challenge for me in the future is to find a job that suits me and can
support myself and my family.
- Is there any kind of risky activity you would like to try in the future?
=> I would like to try climbing moutain in the future . I think it will be a great and
risky activity, I will have interesting experiences

Part 2: Two-minute talk


Note: Students have 1 minute to prepare for their two-minute talk.
Unit 1:
- Describe your daily routine.
- Talk about how to improve your life style.
Unit 2:
- Talk about your interests.
- Talk about your favourite sport.
Unit 3:
- Talk about your favourite means of transportation.
- Give travel advice to a visitor who arrives in Vietnam for the first time.
Unit 4:
- Talk about an unforgettable event that happened to you in the past.
- Give some English-learning tips to a beginner.
Part 3: Follow-up questions
Note: Students will be asked 2 questions related to their talk in Part 2.
