Hypertext and Intertextuality

Hypertext refers to text within a document that contains links to other digital information resources. Hyperlinks allow users to navigate between these resources. Hypermedia expands on hypertext by including multimedia elements like images, video and audio. There are three main types of intertextuality: allusions, parodies, and pastiches. Allusions are indirect references that call something to mind without explicitly stating it. There are historical, literary, mythological and religious allusions. Parodies imitate another work in a humorous way, while pastiches borrow elements to create something new.
