Discuss further what is the relationship of the six social sciences in


teaching Social Studies.
 The social sciences include disciplines like history, geography, civics,
and politics. Students have the chance to learn about environmental
factors and how to interact with them through social studies, and
they can also acquire the attitudes, abilities, and information
necessary to become involved and responsible citizens. Thus, social
science and the social studies are essentially intertwined.

What is the true nature of Social Studies?


 The true nature of social studies is to develop civic competency
through the integrated study of social sciences and humanities. In
addition, it assists students in gaining the capacity to make informed
decisions for the betterment, as members of a democratic society.

What is the meaning and scope of Social Studies?


 Social studies are the study of society – past, present, and future.
Social studies involve knowledge on how things like peoples, places,
and events came to be as well as interpersonal relationship and how
individuals can react to one another’s wants and needs. Furthermore,
we learn respect for many opinions and cultural values through
social studies.

GOALS OF SOCIAL STUDIES

Explain in your own words the different goals of Social Studies you can
cite specific examples.
 In my point of view, one of the various objectives of social studies is to
teach students about their responsibilities, particularly with regards to
social and civic issues. For instance, it promotes critical thinking
among students and give them the tools they need to participate
successfully, and competently in civic life.

Why are social studies important in the Philippines?


 In the Philippines, social studies are crucial for the reason that they
help students develop social awareness, and a knowledge of their
places as a citizen in a democratic society.

What do pupils learn in a primary social studies class?


 At the primary level, social studies class teach students how to live
as responsible citizens in their communities, and how to engage with
others from all aspect of life. Moreover, it gives them a better
understanding of the past.
