The Mission of the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LWSC) is to provide
climate resilient quality water supply and sanitation services. In order to achieve this, the Company

abilities. LWSC now seeks to recruit a dynamic, result oriented and energetic persons to fill the under
listed vacant positions.
Job Purpose
Planning, coordinating and implementing all mechanical maintenance and repair activities in order
to ensure maximum availability of plant and equipment that efficiently and economically support
company operations.
ii. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and diagrams. Assists with evaluation of
engineering designs for new construction and makes recommendations as appropriate.
vi. Carry out periodic work site inspections to determine adherence to project objectives, work
standards and safety practices, rectify the deficiencies identified and recommend areas
needing improvements in the performance of projects.
vii. Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends for the
performance of sewer and sanitation systems.

viii. Provide technical advice in Mechanical plant and equipment to ensure improved availability
and reliability.
ix. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical report pertaining to mechanical maintenance
and repairs reports on a monthly basis.
Job Purpose
Plan and coordinate water demand management activities to ensure effective and efficient water
supply service delivery.
i. Provides installation schedules and supervises installation and maintenance of bulk water
meters in accordance with company metering policy.
ii. Perform analyses of water supply networks to model flow characteristics, test for pressure
losses, or to identify opportunities to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.
iii. Coordinate and implement activities pertaining to reading of bulk meters, analyses district
water consumption and compiles preliminary monthly non-revenue water (NRW) report.
iv. Assist in estimating costs for proposed water distribution system construction and related
capital expenditure items.
v. Offer technical support to maintenance and operation teams to ensure efficiency in the delivery
of water services.
vi. Manage and encourage staff, optimizes their outputs and effectively manage relationships in
order to achieve organizational goals.

vii. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical reports pertaining to network efficiency to the
Senior Engineer Network Efficiency on a monthly basis.
viii. Prepare of water supply network analysis reports.
ix. Performs any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by superiors.
Job Purpose
i. Prepare scheduled maintenance plans in-line with the Asset management Policy, Maintenance
protocols and recommendations from respective equipment manuals to make sure they run
smoothly and reliably
ii. Coordinate and Implement the approved preventive maintenance schedules on water
production and transmission infrastructure to ensure it operates efficiently with minimal
disruption on operations.
iii. Undertake diagnostic investigations on equipment for early detection of potential faults and
coordinate the subsequent preparations for the implementation of corrective action.
iv. Coordinate the implementation of activities for responding to emergent break-downs and/or
failures of machinery, plants and water supply infrastructure to stop further deterioration.
v. Managing stock of supplies by timely initiating the process for mobilization / procurement of
the appropriate specialized equipment, tools, fixtures, fittings or any materials as may be
deemed necessary for the repair works.
vi. Supervise and motivate maintenance staff for optimization of their outputs through effective
management of the relationships in order to enhance the achievement of the Company goals.

vii. Implement assessments and controls to ensure compliance to health and safety regulations in-
line with the Occupational health and Safety Policy inclusive of provision of Personal
Protective Equipment-PPE demanded by special tasks.
viii. Custodian of critical equipment repair / maintenance records inclusive of the analysis and
interpretation of the data helpful in creating innovations and procedures to guide decision
making by management.
ix. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical reports to the Senior Engineer as per requirement
– daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
x. Performs any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by the Supervisors.

3. Member of the ICT Profession
Job Purpose
To repair and carry out maintenance on all instrumentation and office equipment to improve
reliability.
i. Repair, install and maintain telemetry system, Logic Controllers, RTU and SCADA equipment
ii. Repairs, installs and maintains two way radio communication and repeaters in the company.
iii. Repairs, maintains and monitors IPBX and other telephone communication equipment in the
company.
v. Repairs, maintains and monitors performance of all CCTV and Access Control equipment in
the company.
vi. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical reports as per requirement – daily, weekly,
monthly, quarterly and annually
vii. To carry out any other duties as may be delegated form time to time.
Job Purpose

Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance and fault finding on all mechanical equipment /
machinery.
(i) Asses work to be done and materials required completing tasks on receipt of job cars and
instruction from supervisor.
(iii) Raises requisitions and collects material/ spares and appropriate tools on approval by
supervisor and proceeds to effect repairs.
(iv) Carries out mechanical maintenance, repair overhaul and installation work to the pumps and
other equipment.
(v) Undertake routine planned maintenance and serving of pumps as per given schedule and
instruction to ensure minimum disruption to operations.
(vi) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Purpose
To carry out Auto electrical maintenance, repairs and fitting work to motorise and non- motorised
mobile equipment in order to restore them to good working condition.

ii. Diagnoses nature and causes of faults, malfunction, defects and repairs and seeks guidance
from supervisor if the problem is above the job holder’s level of competence and training in
order to determine most appropriate method of resolving problems.
iii. Undertakes routine planned maintenance and servicing of mobile equipment as per given
schedule and instructions to ensure minimum disruption to operations whilst safeguarding
and prolonging equipment’s life.
iv. Completes daily job cards stating work done, materials and manpower resources used and
time taken. Submits job cards to the supervisor for approval and inspection of the works.
Job Purpose
i. Carrying out Preventive maintenance jobs according to PM check lists, instructions and
applicable work procedures.
ii. Identify and diagnose broken down operating equipment and draw lists of requirements.
iii. Identify and diagnose equipment with planned repairs and draw lists of requirements.
iv. Carry out repairs according to standard work procedures applicable.
v. Carry out planned repairs according to standard work procedures applicable and schedule.
vi. Carry out all none break down jobs within working hours and scheduled over times.
vii. Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

POSITION 9 : Laboratory Technologist Wastewater Quality and Monitoring x 3
Job Purpose
Responsible for supporting the Wastewater Treatment Plant by analyzing a variety of samples using
different test methods and/or physical tests.
Job Purpose
The Legal Assistant is responsible for the administrative functions of the Department. Provides
support preparation and filing of documentation at any relevant Tribunals.

iv. Files and maintains an electronic data base of all contracts, lease agreements, and all the
necessary documentation for the department.
v. Conducts research as requested by the Supervisor.
vi. Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting
deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case
management software; confirming case status with advocates.
vii. Meeting management; call for meetings on behalf of the Supervisor, take minutes and
arrange for refreshments where necessary.
viii. Ensure payment for pigeon hole and regular check up on the pigeon hole.
ix. Perform all general administrative functions of the department; diary management; trip
preparation; practicing license renewal; document filing and archiving; Departmental
subscriptions and licenses.
x. Performs any other duties as delegated by superiors.
