Lecture-1

AutoCAD (Automatic Computer Aided Design) –

it is use for CAD Field to describe Drafting & Annotation

Drafting -2 D Plans Views (Top, Front, Side)

Annotation- Detailing (Text, Dimension, Layout)

Latest version- AutoCAD 2021 / 2016/2019

Developer- Autodesk (US) 1982

AutoCAD Scenario- 1) 2D-- Setting GUI / Draw toolbar/ Modify toolbar/ Array/ Hatching

2) Isometric-- Intro/ Rules of Isometric / 3D convert in 2D

3) 3D--- Intro of 3D/ Material added/ material Remove/ render / Image/

Material

4) Advance AutoCAD --- Properties tool bar/ Text/ Dimension/ Table/ Block/
Layers/ Plot/ Layout/ Multilayer

5) Project Handling

Today’s Tasks

1) Open software- right Click on software icon and open-Start Drawing

2) Read GUI (Graphical User Interface)

Note- 1) AutoCAD works with command basis

2) Important tool- toolbars/ Working area/ Command window/ DS tool

drafting setting toolbar

3) Reset Software------ Right Click on working Area-option-profile- reset-ok (Drafting &

Annotation) (Gear sign is workspace switching button)

4) Change Color Theme- Right Click on working Area- option- Display- Color-Restore Classical
color-Restore - Apply and ok
5) DS Toolbar- A) Grid and Dynamic Input always off

B) Always ON OTRACK & OSNAP [OSNAP--- Object snapping/////////OTRACK

object snap tracking] in DS toolbar.

C) Right Click on OSNAP- Setting- Select All-ok

Mouse Operation-

1) Panning----- press and hold scroll button of the mouse and move to pan

2) Zoom in Zoom Out-------- Roll the scroll button for zoom in and zoom out

AutoCAD Works with Co-ordinate System

1- Absolute Co-ordinate System

2-Rectangle Co-ordinate system (Relative Co system)

3- Polar Co-ordinate system (Relative polar coordinate System)

4- Ortho method System we work firstly

Draw Toolbar--

LINE-- L (Enter Sign)

Click on workspace anywhere and on Ortho mode in ds toolbar or ON F8 ( perpendicular sign)

Give the direction by the mouse and put the value & enter

Note - For Exit Command Use enter button or ESC button in Keyboard

UNDO Curlz one step before and one step ahead Ctrl+ Y (Redo)

Enter also use for spacebar in keyboard

Lecture -2

How to Create Line at Angle------ By using Polar Method in DS Toolbar

For Creating Line at angle ON Polar Mode in DS tool bar, Hidden line generated as a tracking
line at angle

And change angle by Right click in polar mode and select specify angle.

If we can change angle by user go to polar setting and change only increment angle & use as
usual

Circle---- C ( Enter )

In AutoCAD make circle 6 types

1- Center Radius

2- Center Diameter

3- 2 Point

4- 3 Point

5- Tan, Tan, Rad

6- Tan, Tan, Tan

1} Center Radius

C enter

Specify the center point of the circle (Note - to find the center always on OSNAP with setting
Select all)

Specify the radius Value.

2) Center Diameter- [Diameter] Non Active///////// < XY > Active

C enter

Specify the center point of the circle (Note - to find the center always on OSNAP with setting
Select all)

For Diameter D enter (Click on Diameter in command window)

Specify the diameter Value.

3) 2 Point Circle

C enter

Right Click select 2 P Command

Select 2 Point (Those two points indicates diameter points of the circle)

4) 3 Point Circle

C enter

Right Click select 3 P Command

5) Tan Tan Tan

This command takes by toolbar only

Select three points for making tangent in three sides

Trim Command

TR (double enter)

Trim command only works when two objects are intersect

Extend Command

Ex (Double enter)

Note------- If press shift in this command it works as a trim or vice versa

Lecture -3
How to give line tangent on Circle?

Method 1- go to Ds toolbar and OSNAP setting only check tangent and use snapping

Method 2-Temporary Snapping---- L enter right click and select tangent for snapping. in every
tangent time.

6) Tan Tan Rad

C enter

Right Click and select TTR command

Select two curves or Line and give radius Value

Note

1) If lines are non-parallel any value of radius will be given TTR Command apply

2) TTR Command Doesn't Work in Parallel Lines because in parallel lines we have to give
in every point same radius of circle.

DS Toolbar with Function Key
