Module 2 - Christian Living 1

The document discusses the canon of biblical books and canonicity. It begins with an opening prayer asking for guidance in discovering roots in Church tradition and dedicating one's life to meaningful goals. The learning targets are to understand the importance of the biblical canon, witness the Church's commitment to God's word, and reflect on how it guides decisions. A video on canonicity provides background. Key points are that the Church had to decide which books were divinely inspired based on doctrine, not other factors. It established the official list of books called the canon to protect the truth and authority of God's word.

The Official List of Biblical Books: Canonicity

Opening Prayer:

Help me to have something of true value to give to those
who will come after me. +Amen.

module would be an entry point for you to have a deeper encounter and

Matthew 7:24-27

will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The

heart of ours.
2. What are the two things compared in the reading?
The two things that are compared in the reading are those who act and not act on the Words of

difficulties that I encountered in choosing the one I care about most are their value and

Link/Lecture: Making a choice is not always easy. The reason

perhaps is that we are not sure if our decision is right. Our heart
sometimes contradicts what our mind says, and we are in a dilemma.
We find it difficult to make choices because we are also afraid to fail.
This being the case, we should always decide and make a stand.

The same thing happened with the canon of the Bible. The Church had
to decide which books were to be included in the official list based on
the doctrine of inspiration and not for any other reasons or
considerations.

Let us see first see if you were able to follow or understand the topic. Answer the

“I have been all things unholy. If God can work

through me, He can work through anyone.”
–St Francis of Assisi

Closing Prayer:

Compassionate One, we are relational beings who thrive in the care and
kindness of our kin. May our families be places where we can find comfort,
counsel, and understanding, where we can increase in wisdom, stature, and
favor before You. May our schools be communities where the language of care
is spoken, where life is recognized as an unearned gift, and where conviction is
taught with clarity and passion so that everyone entrusted with life will cherish
and protect it. We ask this in the name of your Son and our Brother, Jesus
Christ. +Ame
