1.Palimbang Earthquake
During March 6,2002 the Palimbang earthquake is the one of the Stongest tremor that hit
Mindanao With the magnitude of 6.8 and 8 Fatalities, The Earthquake epicenter Is located in
Isulan,Sultan Kudarat with the town of palimbang As the most devastated area.The Earthquake
was produced by subduction (two tectonic plates converging together)along the Cotabato trench.
The Earthquake also wreaked havoc on the province of Sarangani,North And South Cotabato,
leaving around 7,684 families affected. Damaged infrastructures include public markets,
churches, highways, schools, and residential houses.
2.Visayas Earthquake
It Happened during February 6,2012 with the epicenter at Negros Oriental The magnitude of this
Earthquake is 6.9. Several town were isolated because the bridges that connects to towns that
connect to the rest of the province collapsed.The tremors caused landslides that buried residential
houses
3.Bohol Earthquake
During October 15,2013 8:12 in Bohol.An island province located in Central Visayas
Philippines. A Magnitude of 7.2 with epicenter of 6 kilometers S 24° W And its depth of focus
is 12 kilometers It affected the whole Central Visayas region, particularly Bohol and
Cebu.According to the official reports of the NDRRMC.222 people were reported dead 8 were
missing and 976 people were injured. In all, more than 73,000 structures were damaged, of
which more than 14,500 were destroyed
The fault from which the earthquake originated has yet to be identified, and geologists are
focusing on two nearby fault systems, the Iba Fault and the East Zambales Fault, trying to
determine the origin of the earthquake.
