Many people have supported our work both within and outside and herby I wish to express
our sincere thanks to all of them.
Firstly, I would like to thank Karthik Salian, Director of the organization, New Mangalore
Port Trust for giving me the opportunity to have industrial training in this firm successfully.
I would like to thank all the staff members of New Mangalore Port Trust for the guidance and
constant support throughout the internship program.

of civil engineering for her immense support.

.I extent my heartfelt thanks to all the faculty members ,etching and non-teaching staff of
department of civil engineering, who have helped us directly or indirectly.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The main aim of the internship program was to expose student to a more practical approach of
theoretical concepts learnt at the university and assist the students to a more practical approach
of theoretical concepts learnt at the university and assist the student’s development employer
valued skills such as team work, communication and attention to details. Expose the student to
role models and provide an example of behavior expected in interns work place.
This report depicts the activities carried out during the internship program from 01-09-2022 to
30-09-2022 at New Mangalore Port Authority, Mangaluru.
This Report consists of 6 chapters. The content of all the chapters is broadly explained and it
is done from the practical basis of the site visit. In the first chapter I have briefly explained
about the company. In the second chapter I have explained about the technical section. In the
third chapter I have explained about the sewage water treatment process. In the fourth chapter
I have explained about the water supply process for drinking purpose. In the fifth chapter I have
explained about the railway services under NMPT. In the sixth chapter I have explained about
the harbor services under NMPT. Finally in the seventh chapter I have included the conclusion.
