BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Superstitions beliefs may also influence the housing market, educational outcomes, financial decisions, education laws, and stock prices. There has, however, been no study on superstitious beliefs among Filipino millennials. Millennials are diametrically opposed to their predecessors, Generation X. This study seeks to identify a millennial's perspective on Filipino superstitious beliefs and their impact on an individual's life, as well as to clarify the notion of superstition and its implications condition at the present time.
Superstition had been entwined with the fact of normal daily
events when combined with everyday living. Because superstitions and science coexist in the current generation, we can discern which of the two we should always rely on. Being superstitious can influence your behavior and perspective, affecting everything from your performance on a certain test to your receptivity to bogus treatments. Sultana and colleagues, 2019). Superstitions appear to be a more complex idea than simply believing that an unrelated activity (or thing) will increase performance. The legitimacy of superstitions is dependent on faith in the power of enchantment and magic. Somehow, their ancestors' supernatural beliefs and practices continue to have a significant impact on their daily lives of modern Filipinos. This study intends to address millennials' perspectives about Filipino superstitious beliefs and how they can influence one's behavior and performance. The study looked at the following questions: (1) Why do the chosen respondents believe in superstitions? (2) How do superstitions affect the lives of millennials? (3) What are millennials' current attitudes about several Filipino superstitions? (4) How do superstitious beliefs influence one's performance and behavior? In the research design, we used the qualitative method, namely phenomenology. We conducted interviews and administered surveys. Using the relevant measurements and analysis, data was recorded, processed, categorized, and organized. Belief in superstitions is one of the fundamental customs that Filipinos are taught as they grow up. It has been demonstrated that not all millennials have abandoned their belief in various Filipino superstitions. The responses from the participants all had various values. They, too, have the same concept about how to repay our predecessors' respect. Being superstitious can influence perceptions, influencing everything for execution and decision-making. Indeed, it is based on a specific test to assess the response to bogus treatments. According to the report, millennials still believe in the power of superstitions based on their own experiences, family traditions, or even relatives. This study is an attempt to clarify the existing knowledge of superstitions.
