Abstract:
An electrical contractor is a business person or firm that performs
specialized construction work related to the design, installation,
and maintenance of electrical systems. Both usually hold licenses
and insurances to properly and safely operate a business,
protecting the employees and home owners/business owners from
insurance liabilities. These requirements vary from state to state.
Electricians may work for an electrical contractor, or directly for
individuals or companies.
Electrical work means: connecting electricity supply wiring to
electrical equipment or disconnecting electricity supply wiring
from electrical equipment; or manufacturing, constructing,
installing, removing, adding, testing, replacing, repairing,
altering or maintaining electrical equipment or an electrical .
Electrical wiring is an electrical installation of cabling and
associated devices such as switches, distribution boards, sockets,
and light fittings in a structure.
Electrical symbols for wiring
Wiring is subject to safety standards for design and installation.
Allowable wire and cable types and sizes are specified according
to the circuit operating voltage and electric current capability,
with further restrictions on the environmental conditions, such as
ambient temperature range, moisture levels, and exposure to
sunlight and chemicals.

Introduction of Industry/ Organization:
Manasvi Electrical
Manasvi Electrical contractors design, install, and maintain
electrical systems in facilities (i.e. homes, offices, and industrial
buildings). The term is used to describe companies that provide
these services as well as the individual workers that actually
render them.
An electrical contractor is a business person or firm that performs
specialized construction work related to the design, installation,
and maintenance of electrical systems.[1] An electrical contractor
is different from an electrician; an electrician is an individual
tradesman and an electrical contractor is a business person or
company that employs electricians. Both usually hold licenses
and insurances to properly and safely operate a business,
protecting the employees and home owners/business owners from
insurance liabilities. These requirements vary from state to state.
Electricians may work for an electrical contractor, or directly for
individuals or companies.
Electrical Equipment’s/ Instruments
A standard tape measure is used for all kinds of field
measurements, such as setting heights for switches and outlets,
centering lighting fixture boxes, and marking surfaces for cutouts.
A hammer is used to secure electrical boxes equipped with nail-
on brackets to wall studs and other framing members in a home.
You’ll also need one to drive wire staples when anchoring new
electrical cable to framing members.
A small level, such as a torpedo level, fits easily in a tool pouch

and is used to make sure your work is level and plumb. A great
installation starts with level boxes and straight switch and outlet
receptacles.
A torpedo level should be part of every homeowner's standard
toolkit; it will have plenty of uses beyond electrical work.
A utility knife, or box cutter, is handy for cutting sheathing from
non-metallic (Romex) cable, to cut off electrical tape, and to open
cardboard boxes.
Electricians keep screwdrivers with them at all times, for
removing and installing cover plates, outlets, switches, and many
other devices. It's best to have a few different lengths of Phillips
screwdrivers, as well as #1, #2, and #3 tip sizes.
Screwdrivers with insulating rubber jackets covering the handles
are designed for better safety when doing electrical work.
As with Phillips screwdrivers, you will likely need more than
one size of straight-blade screwdrivers. If you have to choose
just one, pick a medium blade; it will suit most projects.
Straight-blade screwdrivers are also available with insulated
handles for better safety when doing electrical work.
Perhaps the most important specialty electrical tool you can own
is a voltage tester. A voltage tester is used for a quick safety
check to make sure there's no voltage in an electrical wire or
device before you start working on it. Non-contact voltage
testers, powered by batteries, are the simplest and safest types of
testers because they can detect electricity just by being near an

outlet slot or wire.
Another essential electrical specialty tool for homeowners is a
good pair of wire strippers. Wire strippers are used to cut and
strip insulation from electrical wires. A wire stripper tool has a
row of gauged holes for stripping wires of different sizes, and it
usually includes cutting jaws for trimming the wire ends. Some
types are combination tools that can also be used to crimp wires
and to strip the vinyl jacket off NM cable.
A voltmeter is used to read voltage levels and verify that circuits
are “live” or off. Unlike a circuit tester, this tool gives you
reading on how much voltage is being carried. More
sophisticated forms of the tool are known as multimeters, and
they can not only read voltage levels but also amperage,
resistance, and DC voltage and amperage. They do, however,
require practice to learn how to use them properly.
This specialty tool is drill press, also called Drilling Machine,
device for producing holes in hard substances. The drill is held in
a rotating spindle and is fed into the workpiece, which is usually
clamped in a vise resting on a table.
Crimping tool is the tool used to deform the material and create
the connection. Crimping is commonly used in electrical work, to
attach wires together or wire to other connectors
Process of electric Works
The electrical wiring scope must cover installation, testing,
supply and commissioning of all accessories, wiring, switches,

conduits, spur outlets, and many more. Thus, electrical wiring
needs further attention, especially for building projects. Several
factors are to be considered before doing the actual installation
work whether for commercial, residential or industrial wiring.
Electrical experts should also consider factors like wall and floor
construction, installation requirements, type of ceiling, building
construction, etc.
Including different wiring systems and installation methods, and
the basic wiring preparation. Everything in this blog will serve as
a guide for electrical professionals in dealing with various
electrical works.

Cleat wiring. Casing wiring. Batten wiring
Testing of electrical Works
All new completed electrical installation should be tested before
connection to the supply, to ensure that the installation is technically
sound and free from any possible short circuits, etc. the main reasons,
to test a new electrical installation or house wiring before it is switched
on to the mains are as follows:
To know the cause of failure of a particular circuit or circuits or
equipment and to locate the exact position of break down.
To ensure that it is free from faults and is as per electricity ruleThese
tests will receive the attention of the owner before any possible undue
damage occurs

Safety Procedure Follow and Safety Gear use
If the plant and its accessories are not inspected and maintained
regularly, they eventually become unsafe for workers working
with or around them. Machines may breakdown causing loss of
business. Therefore, to curb such mishaps, a periodic
maintenance coupled with safety check is essential. Now, gaining
the knowledge on periodic maintenance is not sufficient, it is also
important to know the safety measures that one should follow
while carrying out preventive maintenance at the site.
Wear accessories
No safety inspection and maintenance should be carried out
without any protective equipment. For example, gloves, masks,
eye guards, boots, jackets, etc.
Circulate work permit
If you are going to do an offline maintenance of a crane, issue a
work permit and circulate the message amongst the workers
beforehand. Otherwise, due to lack of knowledge, the person
working on the equipment may encounter a risk.
Conduct risk assessment
Before proceeding with the maintenance activities, a risk
assessment must be done and all workers must be involved in this
one. It will help workers to gain better understanding about the
process and will enable them to conduct their own additional
assessment of the risks involved.
Effective and continuous communication

Most of the times, it is the half-broken information chain that
causes mishaps during preventive maintenance. As discussed
earlier, every employee of the company should be informed about
the going-to-be preventive maintenance at least 3 days in
advance. In addition, the safety officer must consider letting the
workers inform about the same on the day of maintenance as
well.
Consider the tools
Preventive maintenance is subjected to test a machine to its
maximum capacity. Therefore, it should not be compromised just
because you fall short of the right tool. Collect the necessary
tools, wires, testers and other equipment required to run the test
without exposing yourself to high voltage and current.
Always have someone to watch your back
It is always a good practice to carry out the preventive
maintenance work in a group of two or three. When you work as
an individual, the risk factor goes up. However, when you have
someone to watch your back, the risk factor tends to be low.

Conclusion:
During one semester training period, a lot of experience,
knowledge and exposure that I have handy . All disclosures were
awaken myself in a boost of self-confidence to face life more
challenging now. Practical is a complement to the science or
theory learned. This is clearly the concept of science and charity,
where they have learned without practice will be lost and will not
give anything - what effect. So if we do without the knowledge of
course there will be problems in terms of grip and stance ever -
changing.
During my industrial training, there are many changes from the
point of learning environments and discussion among colleagues.
It can directly increase the dedication and rational attitude toward
myself.
