Coordinating Conjunctions?”
Coordinating Conjunctions are a type of
conjunction that join two or more words,
phrases, or clauses of equal value. The most
common coordinating conjunctions in English
are:
For - It is used to indicate a reason or cause.
Example: I couldn’t go to the party, for I had to
study for my exam.
As you can see here in the given example the
conjunction “for” is used to tell the reason why
the subject couldn’t go to the party and that is
because he or she need to study for his or her

exam.
It is understood?
Okay. Can you think of an example?
Any hand? Yes, Ma’am.

Yes, Mr./Ms.______________.

Is it understood?

Is it clear?
And - It is used to add two or more things
together. Yes, Ma’am.

condition.

(The teacher will ask the students for
examples.)
But - It is used to introduce a word or phrase
that contrasts with what has been said before.
(Students will give examples.)
Example: He is a great singer, but he is not a
good dancer.
(The teacher will ask the students for
examples.)
Or - It is used to give a choice between two or
more things.
Example: Do you want coffee or tea? (Students will give examples.)
(The teacher will ask the students for
examples.)

Yet - It is used to introduce a contrasting idea

or fact. (Students will give examples.)

Example: She failed the test, yet she was

examples.)
Coordinating conjunctions can be used to make
sentences more complex and interesting, but
it's important to use them correctly to avoid
confusion or grammatical errors.

(Students will give examples.)

Is that clear?

Do you have any question?

Yes, Ma’am.

None, Ma’am.
