activities
2. Explore technology tools for collaborative work and
3. Make a unit/lesson plan incorporating technology tools
and allows/promotes collaboration among elementary
grade pupils.

was accomplished by individuals working alone, but not
today. Much of all significant work is accomplished in
teams, and in many cases, global teams."

toward handling the logistical aspects of

work to review or submit to an instructor later.
– Google Docs, Padlet, Mindmeister, and Lino can be used for
group brainstorming
– Free online whiteboard tools and realtime collaboration tools
are also available for teachers (Byrne 2014; Hovious 2013).
Consencus Building
– While idea generation & brainstorming tools help
generate possible alternative solutions to a given
problem, consensus-building tools help participants
narrow and refine the proposed solutions. Such
tools support the following functions:

– Polling
– Question Management
– Process Archiving
Online Group Work and
Collaboration
These tools have a variety of features to encourage collaboration,
such as built-in chat, colors for different authors, tracking
changes, playback of writing, ability to insert comments, and
different levels of sharing ranging from viewing to editing.

Presentation & Archiving

These tools allow the project team to present outcomes


to the instructor, to a project client, or to the general
public. Such tools are designed to handle the following:

– Hosted Media Sharing
