HARIDWAR TO KEDARNATH
Haridwar to Kedarnath distance – 252 km
ROUTE LOCATIONS – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar –
Agastyamuni – Guptkashi – Sonprayag - Gaurikund – Finally 16 km trek to
kedarnath.

Rishikesh - Beatles Ashram, Bhootnath temple, Goa Beach, Neer fall, Chilla
Barrage.

Devprayag – Raghunath Temple - Raghunath Temple is one of the 108


Divyadesam dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama had done penance at this
place to repent for the killing of a Ravana.
Devprayag -  Nakshatra Vedhshala
Nakshatra Vedh Shala (an observatory ) was established in 1946 by late
Acharya Shri Pt. Chakradhar Joshi ( a scholar in Astronomy and Astrology )
exists on Dashrathanchal mountain in Devprayag. It is the first Indian
astronomical observatory situated at height of 2123 from the sea level.

Srinagar - Kamleshwar Temple – Kamleshwar is the most popular


temple in the town. As per the stories of the local people Lord Shiva was
worshipped by Lord Rama with thousand lotus flowers. Lord Rama felt
one flower short to make the number of flowers to one thousand and one
and for this he offered one of his to Lord Shiva. This is the reason that
he is also famous with the name “Kamal Nayan” which means lotus
eyed. So, the name of the temple was kept as Kamaleshwar which
means lotus God.

Shankar Math – The temple was built by Adi Guru Shankracharya. The
temple is situated at a distance of about 2 kms from Srinagar. It is
dedicate to lord Vishnu.
 Devel Garh – Develgarh is situated at a distance of about 20kms form
Srinagar. The places to visit here include Rajeshwari Temple, Gauri Devi
Temple and Lakshmi Narayan Temple.

Khirsu - Khirsu is located at an altitude of 1,700 meters and about 40


kilometers from the town of Srinagar. Khirsu is famous for its scenic
background and that is pretty much it. From here, you can see a spectacular
view of the Himalayas, including snow-crested Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nandkot
and Panchchuli peaks.

Agastyamuni - Augustmuni is a town situated on the river bank of
Mandakini at the height of 1000 m. It is 18 km from district Rudraprayag.
Agastyamuni is famous for the temple of Maharshi Priya Ranjan. The town’s
name Agastyamuni comes from the name of a Hindu religious guru Agastya.

Rucch Mahadev Temple – Situated in khunnu village. It’s a siddhpith. On the


bank of Kali Ganga river.

Guptkashi - It lies en route to Kedarnath, nestled in the lush green Mandakini


river valley that has has an abundance of magnolia flowers (locally known as
champak). Chief of these are Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnarishwar Temple.
Legend has it that once the Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata were searching
for Lord Shiva and the Lord hid in Guptkashi. Thus, the main temple here is
dedicated to Lord Shiva.  Another attraction here is Manikarnika Kund, where it
is said the streams of rivers Ganga and Yamuna meet. 

Deaoriya Tal- Devariyatal is an emerald lake perched at a height of 2438 mts above sea
level. During the early morning on a clear day, Devariya Tal blesses the tourists
with miraculous  reflections of Chaukhamba peaks on its crystal clear water.

Chopta - Known as Mini Switzerland.

2. Haridwar to Badrinath

Haridwar to Badrinath distance – 321 km


ROUTE LOCATIONS - Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar –
Rudraprayag – Karnprayag – Nandprayag- Chamoli – Pipalkoti – Gulabkoti –
Joshimath – Govindghat – Lambagad - Badrinath

Karnprayag – Karna Temple, Uma Devi temple, Adi Badri Temple, Benital (Astro
village)
Kaleshwar – Kaleshwar Bhairavnath Temple.
Sonla – Tulsi Mahadev, Kalimath temple (in the forests)
Nandprayag – Chandika Temple, Gopal Mandir, Shivalay,
Bairaskund near Nandprayag (14 km trek. Bairaskund Mahadev Temple is
an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Ravan meditated here)
Gopeshwar – Gopinath Temple (winter seat of Lord Rudranath)
Anusuya Devi Temple – 6 km trek. Dedicated to Anusuya Mata. Sight seeing
during the trek.
Atri Muni Ashram – Near Anusuya Devi Temple.
Joshimath - Narsingh Temple, Auli, Gurson Bugyal (4 km trek)
Niti Village – Gamsali, Bampa (Known as mini Laddakh)
Timmersain Mahadev -  Is a cave of lord Shiva which is situated in Niti
village of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Cave is famous as the replica
of Amarnath shrine of Jammu and Kashmir. Because of it's a natural
Shivaling of snow.

3. Haridwar to Gangotri

Haridwar to Gangotri distance 290 km

Haridwar – Rishikesh – Narendra Nagar – Chamba – Chinyalisaud-


Dharasuband – Dunda – Matli – Uttarakashi – Sukhi Jhala –
Bhatwadi – Gangnani – Harshil - Gangotri

Chamba - Chamba snuggled in Tehri Garhwal district of


Uttarakhand. This idyllic town is perched at an altitude of 1,600
meters above sea level, enveloped by the thick woodlands.

Accessible through Govind National Park; Har Ki Doon is a
heaven for trekkers and adventure loving souls.

4. Haridwar to Yamunotri

Haridwar to Yamunotri Distance – 240 km


Dehradun- Mussoorie- Kempty Fall – Yamuna Bridge – Nainbagh –
Damta – Kharadi Fall- Gangnani – Yamunotri.

Nainbagh - Located in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand, Nainbagh


is a scenic hilly town which marks the confluence of three
districts of Tehri, Uttarkashi, and Dehradun.

Nag Tibba - Nag Tibba peaks is perched at an elevation of 3,022


m.

Gangnani – Ganga Kund.

Kharsali - Kharsali, also known as Khushimath, is the winter


seat of Goddess Yamuna.
