Rose took a Physical Fitness (PE 1) course and learned several important concepts: 1) Determination and consistency are needed to achieve fitness goals through exercise over time. 2) Each person has different physical limitations that should be considered in fitness planning. 3) Monitoring heart rate is important for safety and effectiveness when exercising. She would recommend other students take PE 1 seriously because the lessons on physical fitness can benefit one's health long-term by learning to properly plan and conduct safe, effective exercise routines.

1. Give five (5) words that you learned from PE 1 (Physical Fitness) and briefly explain
each. (10 points per word)
2. Given all the lessons/topics that have been discussed in PE 1, will you recommend
incoming grade 11 students to take this subject seriously? Why? (10points)

1. Determination – From this sem, I realized how important for a person to be


determined of something to start doing things that will make them achieve their
goal. For example, before, I can only go up to 10 sit-ups and I was really
determined to strengthen my core muscles because I know I needed to. So I
started working on and now I can now go up to 18+ sit-ups in one minute.
Consistency – Being consistent with our workout can benefit us in the long run,
physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is a must to be consistent for us to
achieve and maintain our body goals in a healthy way. Some people tend to rush
things when it comes to working out, thinking they can achieve their goals in just
a few days, when in fact it can actually harm them more.
Limitation - Observing my classmates while doing our pre-test and post-test
exercises, I realized that each one of us have different levels of limitation and
some only went that far not because they don’t want to but because they can’t.
Before I was surrounded with physically active people so, I had this mindset that
if I can do it I’m sure they can too. Seeing them and their results made me realize
that but they can also improve with consistent exercising.
Fitness Planning – With each of us having different body limitations, fitness
planning is very important in order for us to know and do the exercises that can
help up to be physically fit.
Heart Rate – In this sem, I also realized how important knowing our heart rate is.
In fitness planning, we also need to consider our heart rate to avoid doing
exercises that are already too extreme for us.
2. Yes. Most people takes this subject for granted not realizing how learning about
physical fitness and our body is helpful for us to have a healthy body ‘til we grow
old. The lessons we learn from this subject can be used in our daily lives. Like
the fitness planning, there are people who do workouts without actually knowing
what exercise their body needs to achieve their goal, resulting to some getting
discouraged from exercising.
