1. Introduction
My role as an intern initially was to conduct online 1-on-1 coding classes for kids. The
academy had pre-designed courses for kids of age 5 years and above. The course contents for kids
began with Scratch programming basics and moved ahead with Python/C/C++ or web development.
It also had more courses on mobile app development and 3D designing and printing. I taught subjects
according to what the student enrolled for which included Scratch programming, Python, C++, 3D
designing on Tinkercad, Mobile app development using MIT app inventor, etc.

Scratch - Scratch is a high-level block-based visual programming language and website aimed
primarily at children as an educational tool for programming, with a target audience of ages 8 to 16.
Users on the site, called Scratchers, can create projects on the website using a block-like interface.

Tinkercad – Tinkercad is a free-of-charge, online 3D modeling program that runs in a web browser.
Since it became available in 2011 it has become a popular platform for creating models for 3D
printing as well as an entry-level introduction to constructive solid geometry in schools.

MIT App Inventor - MIT App Inventor is a web application integrated development environment
originally provided by Google, and now maintained by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
2. Problem Statement

To complete an internship of at least 4 to 6 weeks to gain industry experience.

3. Objectives

1. To learn and understand real-life/ industrial situations and get familiar with various tools and
technologies used in industries through the internship.
2. To be able to choose the right technology for a given problem statement.
3. To create awareness in the new generation about coding and relative technologies.

4. Working

The Interview Process:

1. Enrolled on the Internshala platform
2. Applied for the role
3. Got a message from them to schedule a meeting according to a suitable time.
4. Founder Mr. Aviral Goel interviewed me by asking simple DSA questions and how I would
explain them to kids.
5. Was asked to take a demo class as the final selection round.

Work after selection:

• Conduct 1-on-1 coding classes.
• Keeping a record of what content was taught in the class.
• Recording the class and uploading it to the academy’s google drive.
• Report to the supervisor about what the student is learning.

Additional work after promotion:

• Supervision of other instructors (helping with course syllabus/other difficulties), updating the
syllabus as needed.
• Conduct team meetings once a week to keep a track of everything.
• Review recorded videos of instructors teaching other students and reporting about the same to
the CEO.
• Design social media posts for the academy.
5. Motivation
After my admission to the BE course in DPCOE, I saw a group of people already doing
internships. This inspired me to research and gain some more technical knowledge. Meanwhile, we
were introduced to the Internshala platform by the college and hence this was the first motivation that
led me to apply for an internship.
Gaining industry experience and improving skills was also a motivation that helped me to
apply for more and more internships even after getting rejected.
Along with experience, the internship was not unpaid unlike the other ones available. The
academy was very fair towards work payment and always valued their employees.

7. Analysis & Conclusion
This 10-month-long internship has given me some of the best industry-level experiences
which have in turn helped in building my skills for my career. I was exposed to a great variety of
work here like teaching, designing, and developing also. The wide range of work I did was a major
plus point in building my profile here.
My first internship has not only taught me technical skills but has also been a source to
improve my soft skills like leadership, problem-solving, etc.
8. Suggestions & Recommendations
1. Curriculum could have been more interesting to kids if it included a variety of projects, not
just similar topics.
2. If a kid enrolled at an early age in the academy (e.g. 6) there weren’t enough courses for the
kid to do after 8-9 months. The kid couldn’t start a text programming language as they were
too young and neither was there any other course to start.
9. Attendance Record
The attendance was marked according to the classes taken on a particular day. After
successful completion of a class, the instructors were supposed to log the class on the academy’s
login portal.
Here is a screenshot of the class database for my records.
