- What is Humanities and what makes us who we are? And how this thing relates
into the study of the Humanities.
- The importance of learning the Humanities as an academic discipline.

2. Can Art be defined?

- Role of experience in understanding Art.


- Is art only limited to what we conventionally recognize as art?
- Importance of art appreciation.

3. How is Philosophy related to Art?

- Define Philosophy in relation to Art.


- Is philosophical knowledge a requirement for art appreciation?
- Does art use philosophy to justify its prejudices as artists/humans express through
art?

4. How do Plato and Aristotle describe art?

- Discuss the notion of mimesis for Plato and Aristotle.


- Explain the idea of Beauty being a universal essence for Plato and the role of
Catharsis for Aristotle
- The role of Art to society and morality according to Plato and Aristotle.

5. Describe Art according to Hume and Kant.

- Compare Hume’s mechanism of Taste and the Four moments of artistic judgment
according to Kant.
- Can art really make us realize and do what is good?
