1.4 Statement of the problem
The current research problem focuses on how low safety and welfare
measures of employees, who feel they are not being recognized as
valuable contributors tothe system, and hence get no rewards for the good
work that they do.
Even though the government has announced several measures for the
employees but as a general don't know whether the company is providing
So, the research aims to study the safety and their dist welfare measure of
the cotton industry
• If the employees are satisfied then only the organization can function
smoothly and increases its productivity and faces competition. If employees
are satisfied with their safety concern and welfare they will carry a positive
attitude.
• if employees feel safe to work under the high risk machinery and have high job
satisfaction, they are more likely to work well in their jobs and stay longer .

1.7 Scope of the study
Employee safety and welfare refers to the overall safety, satisfaction,
and motivation of employees in the workplace
The limitations of the study are those characteristics of design or methodology that
impacted or influenced the interpretation of the findings from your research. Study
limitations are the constraints placed on the ability to generalize from the results, to
further describe applications to practice, and/or related to the utility of findings that
are the result of the ways in which you initially chose to design the study or the
method used to establish internal and external validity or the result of unanticipated
challenges that emerged during the study.

CHAPTER 2
P. Anju (2016) in the study identified that the rate of absenteeism had been reduced
to a great extent by providing housing, health and family care, canteen, educational
and training facility and provision of welfare activities. He also stated that this principle
for successful implementation of labor welfare activities is nothing but an extension of
democratic values in an industrialized society.
Mr. Ramana T. Ventata (2015) finds that the welfare facilities are provided to the
employees to keep the motivation levels high. He states that the intramural and
extramural welfare measures offered to the employees have improved their rate of
satisfaction towards job.
Dr. P. Venugopal and T. Bhaskar (2011) found that employees are satisfied with
welfare measures such as recreational, medical, educational, housing, transportation,
sanitation, safety. The employees are also satisfied towards statutory welfare
measures such as Workmen Compensation, ESI, Sickness, P.F and Maternity
benefits. These measures have an impact on the quality of work life and also on the
smooth relationship between employer and employee which leads towards the
attainment of organization goals.
Dr. Usha Tiwari (2014) conducted a study on the employees’ welfare facilities and its
impact on employees. It was also further reiterated that the management should
provide facilities to all employees in such way that employees become satisfied on
the welfare facilities which in turn leads to increase in productivity in terms of quality
and quantity.
I
Dr.P.Bhujanga Rao(2017) state that welfare measure is a process of recognizing the
unique place of the worker in the society and doing good for them, retaining and
motivating employees and building up the local reputation of the company.
Uttam Kumar and Dr. J. K. Panda (2015) suggested a Study on Employee Welfare
Measures With Special Reference To Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd, Indi with the objective
to find out whether welfare activities contribute to the Productivity' and Profitability of
the Organization. The Researcher collected Primary data from 80 Respondents which
conducts personal Interviews from the Human Resource Department. He applied
Percentage analysis to analyze the data. After analyzing the data, he concluded that
welfare activities contribute to the Productivity and Profitability of the Organization.
Hence, it is suggested that MCL must concentrate and improve the dissatisfaction
level of Employees in terms of welfare activities to enhance the Productivity of the
Organization.
I
Dr. K. Nithyavathi (2016) conducted a study on Safety and Welfare Measures of the
Employees in the Textile Industry in Tirupur District with the objective to know the
Perception of the employees regarding Safety and welfare measures. The Researcher
collected Primary data from 150 Respondents, by Interview Schedule method. She
applied the Percentage analysis and Chi-square Test for analyzing the data. After
analyzing the data, she concluded that Necessary compensation must be provided in
the case of unexpected accidents that take place at the two basic factors: Technical
and Human. Hence, it is suggested to provide a healthy and safe environment for the
betterment of both Employees and the Organization.
I
Edwin Sawacha et al. (1999) discovered the effects of the factual, economical,
technical, practical, and administrative and the ecofriendly matters are consider in
terms of the factors that are related with the level of site safety. Seven group of
factors find that can have an influence on the performance of safety on construction
sites: „historical‟, „economical‟, „psychological‟, „technical‟, „procedural‟,
organizational‟, „the working environment‟. [11]
ThanetAksorn et al. (2007) compelling gauge wise survey around 70 defendants and
try gapanalysis strategy for the final decision. Identified 16 factors subsidizing to the
development of safety programs and then estimated their degrees of importance and
actual rank based upon the defendants „observations. Results of this study showed
that all defendants rate management support as the most important factor, followed
by suitable safety education and training, joint effort, clear and realistic objectives,
and effective execution scheme. [18
Balaji (2013) explored the influence of rewards & welfare on job satisfaction &
productivity of both public & private sector employees in measure Industrial cities of
Tamilnadu. The working environment was fair in terms of office accommodation &
furniture, working material, health & safety facilities but on the other side he
recommended salary increment, allowances, bonus, fringe benefit &compensation on
regular & specific periods to keep their moral high & make them productive..
Sabarirajan (2010) concluded that the employees of textile mills in Salem district are
satisfied with the welfare facilities provided by the organization. But some modification
are required in the field of recreation, safety equipment’s, over time payments,
grievance handling etc. Betterment is requiring in the work of co-operative societies
which runs by the trade union.
I
satyanarayana M. (2012) Revealed that overall satisfaction level of KCP Ltd.
Employees at Macherla, Andhra Pradesh is satisfactory. However researcher
suggested some measures for further improvement that are productivity – linked
annual bonus subsidized food in canteen, four pairs of uniforms & increase
the quantity of provisions in the co-operative stores. Such measures will enrich the
employees standard of living & satisfaction level. e total life space and the social
relevance of work”.
Regi (2013) stated that Indian overseas bank (IOB) gives more welfare schemes to
their employees such as safety measures, promotion facility, recreational facility etc.
but they are lacking in canteen facility ,rest room & toilet facility, ID card issue but the
overall satisfaction level of IOB employees about welfare measures are satisfactory.
Jain (2012) implied by her research work that public sector bank employees are more
satisfied with his jobs rather than private bank employees the main cause of
dissatisfaction among private bank employees are job in security their jobs are highly
competitive. Also welfare facilities and clearly defined & legally enforced in public
sector banks while there is neither well planned nor well executed welfare facilities in
private banks. This is other reason of dissatisfaction among private bank employees.
Employee’s turnover high & job security low in private bank employees.

collection source, things like the aim of the research and target population need to
be identified
Questionnaire was formed using google forms and sent to the employees
working In the manufacturing unit of SH TOOL TECH PVT LTD. Close ended
and multiple choice questions were used.

5.2 SUGGESTIONS
I

Use right tools and equipment
5.3 CONCLUSION
The conclusion here is the company is making safety a very main prospective in the
plant but even though the safety is good at the plant the workers have stated that they
were not happy with the pay and work load. I wasn’t abel to make the survey on the
wages due to the restrictions made by the company for it own safety purpose
Employees are given relaxation time and tea intervals to lessen workload. Its is come
to a conclusion that the company can still do more in the welfare aspects of the
employee. The study reveals that the majority of employees are satisfied with the
working conditions and welfare facilities.Employee's satisfactory level can be
enhanced by improving Athe facilities regarding dust and fumes control, Leave
Encashment, purified water facilities, cleanliness in the canteen and quality of food in
the canteen. The separate labor welfare facilities can improve welfare facilities through
regular Inspection. This Committee can also hear the needs of the employees for
further improvements in the safety and welfare facilities.
