1. What are the differences among the three tiers that describe
the ERP market?

The three tiers that describe the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) market are:

Tier 1 ERP systems:

These are the largest and most complex ERP systems that are
designed for global organizations with complex business processes and large-scale
operations. Tier 1 ERP vendors include SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics AX, and their
systems can handle a wide range of business processes, including finance, manufacturing,
supply chain management, and human resources.

Tier 2 ERP systems:

These are mid-sized ERP systems that are designed for medium to
large organizations with less complex business processes. Tier 2 ERP vendors include Infor,
Epicor, and Sage, and their systems offer a more streamlined approach to ERP than Tier 1
systems, with lower costs and shorter implementation times.

Tier 3 ERP systems:

These are the smallest and least complex ERP systems, designed for
small businesses and startups with simple business processes. Tier 3 ERP vendors include
Acumatica, NetSuite, and Syspro, and their systems offer basic functionality at an affordable
price.

2. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of customizing ERP software.

ADVANTAGES:

Customized To A Certain Need:

Customizing ERP software enables businesses to
customize the software to their specific requirements, ensuring that it supports their unique
business processes.

Improved Effectiveness:

Opportunity Among Competitors:
Customized ERP software can provide a competitive
edge by allowing businesses to differentiate themselves from their competitors and offer
unique services or features.

Increased Adoption Among Users:

Customizing ERP software can make it more user-
friendly and easier to navigate, leading to higher user adoption rates.

DISADVANTAGES:

Cost:
Customizing ERP software can be expensive, as it requires additional
development and testing. Organizations need to weigh the potential benefits
against the costs of customization.

Maintenance And Support:

Customization can make it more challenging to
upgrade or maintain the software, as customizations may need to be reworked
or tested for compatibility with new versions of the software.

Integration Issues:
Customizations can cause compatibility issues with other
software or systems, leading to integration problems and additional
development and testing.

Increased Risk Of Errors:

Customizations can introduce errors or bugs into the
system, which can cause problems down the line if not caught and addressed.
