MUHAMMAD RAFI PUTRA YULAN

OPENING: Assalamualaikum Good morning viewers, I am Muhammad Rafi Putra

Yulan. Today on Thursday 09 March 2023 happy gathering with us in CNN NEWS.
which will provide you to the real news and which is taken actually and factually.
Either in international and national. I will accompany you for about 5 minutes with
many kinds of information. Well, let’s begin the news today.

FIRST NEWS:

The first news is about an earthquake in Maluku. An earthquake measuring 6.1

intensity in Maluku this afternoon occurred at 13:43 o'clock Eastern Indonesian time
causing an impact on undersea landslides and sea level rise. The seconds when the
sea level on Japutah Beach to Apiahu Beach rose was recorded from a video that
was spread on the internet, now residents around the coast have evacuated to hilly
areas away from the beach. BMKG through its official account on Twitter has also
warned of the potential for a tsunami or rising sea levels due to underwater
landslides as a result of the 6.1 intensity. Rising sea levels panicked fishermen
around Japutih and Apiahu Beaches, Central Maluku. They tried to save their boats
and ships, but the sea water rose so quickly that the fishermen could not tie their
boats to the moorings. BMKG issued a potential tsunami warning and also
aftershocks, BMKG asked residents around the coast to immediately stay away from
the coast and head for high areas. Some residents were seen in the hills and forests
around the coast, they were quite alert to the BMKG warning.
SECOND NEWS:

The second news is about Millions in South Sudan will need food aid. Nearly 10
million people in South Sudan will need food aid in 2023, according to the UN Office
for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha). Ocha says severe food
insecurity will affect an estimated eight million people, or 64% of the 13 million
population, by the peak of the lean season between April and July next year. "A
staggering 76% of South Sudan's population will have humanitarian and or
protection needs in 2023,” Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator
in South Sudan, said in a press release on Friday. Ms Nyanti stressed that the
deteriorating humanitarian conditions are worsened by endemic violence, conflict,
access constraints, operational interference, public health challenges and climatic
shocks such as flooding and localised drought.
LAST NEWS:

The latest news is about Dominican Republic floods: At least six killed in rains. On
Friday, some areas of the capital, Santo Domingo, saw twice the monthly average
rainfall in one day. Meteorologists said that while they had been aware of heavy
rains approaching, they had been surprised by the strength of the sudden downpour.
Poor drainage meant that the water accumulated quickly, turning streets into quick-
flowing torrents. In some parts of Santo Domingo, 232mm (9.1in) of rain fell in a
matter of hours, twice the estimate for the month, Weather Bureau Director Gloria
Ceballos said. View of a car dragged by the current in the Los Ríos neighborhood

Several people are still missing. Of the six people who died, two drowned, two were
electrocuted and two were crushed by collapsing walls. Hundreds of homes have
been damaged and the agricultural sector has also been hard hit. President Luis
Abinader said an estimate of the damages would be released on Tuesday. He added
that poor drainage had compounded the flooding in the capital: "It's a problem that
continued to grow, the city and greater Santo Domingo area grew without a real
drainage system."
